I read and re-read your comments on my earlier thread and I decided you guys were right. If I really want help, I'm gonna have to make the first steps in order to get it. I went to an AA meeting this afternoon. The group was very warm and it wasn't as scary as I was expecting it to be. I got my day 1 chip and the Big Book and I'm sticking to the plan of 30 meetings in 30 days. No sponsor yet, but that's to be expected (so I was told anyway.) I'll need to attend a few more meetings and get to know the veterans a little better before I get one.
I wanted to share this because you guys were the ones who gave me the nudge I needed to get my life back on track. It means the world to me that you guys whom I barely know took the time to be there and help. This is the first time I've ever been to a forum where there are people who give a damn and really want to help. I especially wanna give a shout out to Blue. Your comment about trying it once and giving up really stuck out to me. Of course that doesn't mean I don't appreciate everyone else's support any less. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
