Vigilias: Y U NO mention King Richard and his stupid-ass Crusade to compensate for his own gay tendencies?

pretty much, in the Christian American South, there are two choices when presented with the revelation that you are gay.

you either convert to heterosexuality through the miracle of Jesus Christ, or you commit suicide. those are pretty much your choices, if you are gay you have to either become straight or kill yourself.

Interestingly in a discussion with a Rabbi on another site, I learned that the Jewish rendition of fporbidden man with man sex referred to the Temple Prostitues (which is an abomination) and that actual man with man sex was not really regarded as an abomination but just as sex between two consenting adults. The actual act of homosexuality as forbidden was actually dreamed up by the Roman Catholics when they were trying to create a dominance with Christianity. (Blame Pope Constantine.)

Homosexuality, as the catholics among us will already be aware, is one of the four sins that cry out to heaven for vengeance. The other three are

Murder,
defrauding a workman of his wages.
denying charity to the poor, particularly widows and orphans.

How the flying *&%$ did it get in there? If no one gets hurt it's harmless and if anyone does get hurt it's rape or at least assault, neither of which made the cut on the crying out to heaven bit.

Could it be about having a good time with no chance of new catholics as a result?

People with a wife and half a dozen kids don't have time to start a revolution.
