Anime, anyone?

I am a die hard FLCL fan. Most people think it's just really weird and bizarro, but if you look again it's actually one of the most brutally honest portrayals of growing up and learning to become who you've always destined to be. It's like Catcher in the Rye with giant robots and fanservice (I'm serious).

And yes, anything Ghibli/Miyazaki is pretty good and beautiful, guaranteed.

Some of Satoshi Kon's works are great, particularly Tokyo Godfathers and his tv series Paranoia Agent.

Fullmetal Alchemist, both the original and Brotherhood, are amazeballs.

Ouran High School host club is kinda silly and falters toward the end, but it's genuinely funny and touching at times. Plus the gay innuendo abounds throughout the series. XD

Cowboy Bebop. Enough said.

I have....thoughts on yaoi, lol. Most of it is made by young women, and it reads for...young women. Not this openly-gay 30-something. It's sounds like a great idea on paper, but I've never really enjoyed any I've read. Maybe some genuinely good ones do exist that more gay men can enjoy too (Mentaiko makes some decent bara with muscular-but-still-cute guys, for example), but I'd have to look further.

I agree with everything you said about FLCL! I think most Satoshi Kon anime is great although I had a few problems with Perfect Blue. I love both versions of Fullmetal Alchemist but probably prefer Brotherhood. Miyazaki/Ghibli in general too obviously - it's rare to encounter someone who doesn't warm up to Ghibli-produced movies. Unless it's Grave of the Fireflies...

Cowboy Bebop is awesome and I think it's about time I watched it again! The english dub this time - I've heard amazing things about it Smile

I've seen the first episode but I never continued. Not because I didn't like it, I'm honestly not sure why... I might try it again if I feel like it Big Grin

I've watched FLCL before when I was younger,I like it~ I don't remember the whole story line though,but it's awesome~

As for Ouran, one of the best comedy anime I've ever watched~ It's reverse harem concept kinda appealing to gay audiences~ and it's also touching~

I've watched several yaoi anime, not very appealing to me,I guess cause it was created by women for women,so their fantasy is kinda off to gay men. One yaoi manga that I love,Nee Sensei. Maybe cause I like the mangaka's drawing, not so much of that style could be found in yaoi genre, most mangaka's drawing kinda flowery?

If I could think of a yaoi that fit's this description I would say Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. (I don't have much experience with yaoi :p ) It's not a "perfect" yaoi like the one you are looking for and it still has this model of the muscular-petit couple but it doesn't really come to raping and the couples -especially the Yukina x Kisa one- I think are cute. I'm lacking on watching anime, been sticking to manga recently. Might look for a new series to watch, or catch up on the older ones I used to watch.

Hmmm... I have a friend who's seen that one and she told me I wouldn't like it because there's lots of "forcing"... maybe she was wrong :o

Nice to know I'm not the only one who still holds a candle for the Sailor Moon anime! xP

I got all excited cause I read about them having a reboot in 2013... but it's already been postponed, which sucks =/
