Want to move in with my boyfriend

We have spoken about it but I was just looking for some advice on how to convince him to move in with me. I usually ask him or tell him "you should move in with me." Truthfully, it's becoming kind of a joke I say to him when he forgets something he needs at the apartment or house. Now I don't think he takes it seriously because he's really kind of said he wants to but..., I do get that I shouldn't force it, and that he could keep that apartment and move in and use for when family comes to town, I was seeing if anyone had been through this and how they agreed to move in with their significant other. That's all.

Are you going about it too pragmatically? Yes, it's important to discuss finances...yes, it's important to have that level of playfulness, but love is the basis for your desire for him to move in with you, right? Talk about love, talk about commitment, talk about wanting the future to start now.

Thanks again everyone, I had a good talk with him and he did say that he was torn. He is very much in love with me and wants to spend his life with me and the thought of living in a house together is more than he could ever asks for. On the other hand yes, it would pose questions that he is not ready to answer yet. His mother is considering moving to our city this spring. He wants to see if she is moving here for sure and then explain to her what's going on. He wants to keep is apartment in case she would want to stay there until she finds a place or stay there for a year or so and pay half the rent. He has basically said that he would move into my house with me. After talking about it we decided that we both liked living at my house but having the apartment just in case we need to stay the night closer into town.

Thanks Olivewreath for your concern. We have tried to take a day, he at his place and me at my on own, just to ourselves and we seemed to want to be together. It may have been because it was weekend day. We felt that was the best time to be together so we got out of the habit. One thing that was nice, my boyfriend had a class on Saturday mornings until the afternoon. I got some work done and I we really missed each other. Anyway, I hear you, we probably need space but I always want to be around him and he wants to be with me. I think living in house would be good because my house is big enough for me to work in my studio and him to do whatever. He is taking a class on Thursday evenings now, so maybe we could spend Thursdays apart. Thanks again!
