Long hair: yes or no?

I'n honestly not a big fan of long hair, but it's not to say that would prevent me from liking someone.
Maybe it's because mum is really butch and never wears skirts or long hair, but also I connote long hair with sort of difficult to maintain, grubby hair. Obviously it's not like that on everyone, but I just think why not just make life easier and have short hair? I guess I'm not very attached to the concept of 'personal look'

My hair is short but already difficult to maintain, since I have very straight and rigid East asian hair.
