Children
#21
I guess it depends on the kids. I love my two nieces (8 and 3yo). They're not blood relatives but I'm good friends with their parents, and especially close to their mother. I love to spoil them with presents. For Christmas I got them an American girl doll (not cheap at $105) a special Holiday dress for the doll, these were mainly for the younger one. For the older one (my favorite) I got her a $25 iTunes gift card and a plush Angy bird, the blue one, she's obsessed with "Angry Birds", she dressed up as one for Halloween and I've been buying her the plush toys throught the past 6 months (first her mom got her the red plush, I added the Black one, the green pig from the game and now the blue one for Christmas).
The girls are incredibly well-behaved, polite and compassionate.

Children seem to be attracted to me like magnets. When I went to Disney World a couple of years ago on three seperate occasions children came up to me crying they they had lost their mum or dad. I had to explain to them that strangers can be dangerous (without scaring them) that I was safe, that next time they should go to a Disney employee (it's the themepark's policy) and find their parents all at the same time.
Which somehow I managed to do.

Perhaps children like me because I'm a child at heart myself. I spend a lot of time at toy stores, comic book shops, etc. it does scare me a little, I don't want anyone to think I'm a pedophile!

My partner on the other hand adores children!
He dotes on his niece and nephews.
One time we were taking a romantic vacation to Miami Beach, we decided to go to the regular family beach one day and there was a sand castle contest and there was a little boy crying because his parents would'nt help him build a sand castle. So my BF immediately went into action and helped him build his castle and they won the competition!
(it was my job to haul wet sand)

I'm afraid of becoming a father because My own father was abusive at times and they say if you had a bad father you will become a bad father.
Wether or not we ultimately have children depends on what my partner wants, I want him to be happy.

It depends on the kid, my relatives I can deal with but bad kids that don't listen and throw tantrums I can't be around. Plus I'm a big kid anyway so as long as they're half way obediant then we'll be ok.

I really love kids. And they love me tooBig Grin I play with them, laugh with them. I really want to have kids and i am going to raise them with the ability to think, and i will leave the rest to them. I am going to put little art works all over my home. Not like the kind of art which you want it just to make your home look good. The kind of art that actually does means something. I want them to grow with those materials and realise the meaning of them when they feel down. Not just art, other stuff too. I am planning the perfect house for a kid right now. I know im 16 and its too early but it will be one of the best things i can give to my kids; love, vision, support and a life time full of memories.

I love kids, and have a couple. They are the best thing that ever happened to me. To see them discover new things, the joy that children's laughter brings to a parent's heart, their sincere and honest feelings are all magical. Also the questions they ask, you never know what they'll want to know about next but it's fun to help them learn new things!

Do they trash the house every day? Yes, but they help pick up and put things away at the end of the day when told and at meal times. Also the constant cleaning it takes to keep a house tidy with them is like a free extra workout that doesn't require a trip to the gym. Are they sometimes too loud, well yes but you get used to it. Selective hearing is a critical parenting skill you develop.

Are they for everyone, no. They take a ton of work to raise them right and are a lifelong commitment. If you don't like committing yourself to someone else, let alone an oftentimes helpless clueless soul in need of your unconditional unending love regardless of what good/bad/silly/crazy pickle they've gotten themselves into this time, then kids might not be the best fit.

I love kids although i could see myself better as an uncle than a father.

The more you treat them as immature brats, the more they play up.
