I would suggest a liquid supplement like Ensure http://ensure.com/ Doctor recommended it to me the last time I went to visit doctor. Another thing you might want to consider is milk shakes, malts. While they are largely 'empty calories' they are still calories. Protein shake mix added to a regular ice cream shake (like half the recommended dosage of powder) will post protien and make an ice cream shake a bit healthier.
