So I just ran into someone I haven't seen in awhile. He isn't a great friend or anything. He noticed my earrings and said "those earrings make you look gay." I said, "really? well thanks." He said, "what?" and then I couldn't stop laughing and he walked away.
I guess I can consider that as coming out to him. It was actually rather fun. He wasn't anyone I particularly ever liked. I always thought he was a bit of a jerk. Who else would make a comment like that?

Lol, hilarious! Yeah the use of the word gay to me can go one of two ways. One, they are using it to be hateful, and even then i hear f*ggot used instead of gay. Or number two, when someone says "oh thats gay" and it literally has no meaning towards a homosexual at all. Its kind of weird if you think about it. Im still guilty of using it, like when my friend and I debate which is better, PC or Mac (it gets him fired up lol) and i day, " come on man, Macs are gay". Lol he is passionate about his computers I guess. Its almost as if the word gay when referring to homosexuals has evolved into just an expression. Kind of like the word douche. When you refer to someone as a douche, or being douchey, you arent literally calling them a bag used to cleanse orifices. K, well that was completely unnecessary on my part lol. Ive only had 2 hrs of sleep today. Night!

This brings up a interesting point. WE AIN'T WHAT WE USED TO BE! YAY! The first gay pride parade that only 300 people showed up for and marched under the protection of police escort that just as soon wished us dead to now a city wide event with corporate sponsors and eager participation by city officials and high school bands that has become a major city event.
The fact that you could state "THANKS" and just walk away is in itself amazing. This is a amazing time. A exciting time to live in.

well, it is a grave insult. he could have said, well it made you look like a murderer, or a betrayer to our long friendship... that I could handle, but if you had just rescued 10 people from a burning house and you were GAY... that would be the end of the friendship. sorry.

In honesty, he probably was refering to gay in the terms of "stupid" or "dumb". But if you outted yourself to him or anything Good on ya. You made it easier on yourself lol. Now you can tell him all about the magazines with the calvin klein men you keep under your bed.
