I'm the polar opposite of the guy you described - i like heavily distorted music, never been to a gay club, celebrities couldn't be more boring, my wardrobe is half-empty with cheap t-shirts, not defensive about gay rights, don't use fragrances, spend no more than 10 minutes a day in the bathroom and exercise at home only so i have the endurance to peruse my outdoor hobbies during the summer - and I'm gay as hell.

The things you mentioned don't say anything about his sexual orientation. If he says he is straight he most likely is. If you don't have the time to have him as friend don't bother and don't try to bring him out of the closet even if he turns out to be gay.

I wasn't going to say this as nicely as you did... But my sentiments exactly. I don't think any closeted guy would date the guy that forced him out of the closet just to date him.
