i just finished Thucydides' The Peloponnesian War.

to say that i loved it is an understatement. it was very good, magnificent piece of work. the style, the presentation, and the focus are remarkable in Thucydides. Martin Hammond's translation was also up to the task, very smooth and genuine.

I got this a few years ago but I never got round to reading it. I did a couple of classes in 'pure maths' a few years ago ('numbers, sets and sequences' and 'analysis and linear algebra') but I want to brush up on it and fill in some blanks.
