I don't see what's wrong with the idea of fate. I don't think it undermines the meaning of choice, because if fate existed, wouldn't choice be a part of that, rather than the idea of choice being eradicated.

I believe that fate must exist, because ultimately, there's one path that the future will take and that is fate. If fate didn't exist, then multiple universes must exist, but still, that's just fate in different versions.

I don't know much about astrology, but I think often people who want to believe in it will unknowingly manipulate themselves into believing it. That doesn't mean it doesn't have any validity though. Nothing is absolute.

I certainly believe that being born at a certain time of year can effect certain personality traits that we may have. We are all energy after all, we know the moon effects tides and such, whose to say what does or doesn't play a factor in our lives? I think there's a different between 'playing a factor' and 'controlling' though. I don't believe it dictates our day's or future at all.

Didn't think of it that way, we are energy and matter. Come to think about it, they say Animals are effected by "lunar phases", I wouldn't be surprised if there was some truth within Astrology, it just depends on how much has been elaborated on and how has been commercialised.

Being a fan of the physical sciences, I like what Neil DeGrasse Tyson had to say about horoscopes. His test to prove the invalidity of them is to take a random horoscope and read it to a group of people, and then ask them to raise their hand if that is their horoscope. Two thirds of the people will raise their hands. As for rational rebuttal, where the sun was when you were born is nowhere near where the sun was 2000 years ago when all this was laid out. Or the fact that their are actually fourteen constellations in the zodiac, not twelve, including Ophiuchus. The sun spends more time in Ophiuchus than it does in Scorpio, so chances are, if you think you are Scorpio, you're actually most likely Ophiuchus. Once again I must cite Neil DeGrasse Tyson for this information.
