Worst movies you ever seen?

murder-set-pieces

it's essentially a film with no point to it at all . just a few hours of women being tortured. it doesn't further the plot (films that feature violence against women are fine as long as it has some relevance to the plot , imo) , because the entire plot of the film is literally "angry man hates women so decides to torture and kill some".

I hate those. I don't even care for the ones where a female tortures a male to death for good reason (while I don't necessarily hate them, assuming there's a very compelling reason like they gangraped her as in I Spit on Your Grave, or he raped and murdered his best friend but she can't prove it so pretends to be the next clueless victim when she sadistically turns the table on him in Hard Candy--btw, I've only seen a little of Hard Candy and none of ISOYG, just heard a lot about them). Ok, I DID like Freeway (with Reese Witherspoon), at least when I saw it as a teen, though she didn't actually torture a serial necrophiliac rapist as she just tried to make sure he never hurt anyone again (and there was no other way to stop him), but he survived the several gunshots to live a tortured existence (and obsessed with revenge against her, even after there's a huge manhunt for him as he's been exposed he refuses to leave, the entire point of his existence is to destroy her for what she did to him).

But one thing I found really disturbing, still remember it after all these years. Because I was a fan of Rob Zombie's music (and I liked the animated feature he made for Beavis & Butt-head Do America) I actually sat through (with some difficulty) House of 1000 Corpses, so I was very surprised when I saw someone on a messageboard say how much he hated that movie and say the reason he hated it was for where one of the psychos kills a cop begging for his life (quick, executioner like). I pointed out that the cop's death was the most merciful one by far, and he was actually someone taking a risk, whereas all the other victims were innocents, most of them sheltered teenage girls, and they did A LOT of shrieking as they were slowly tortured & terrified to death.

He said "they're supposed to die," I think half-humorously and half-true as teen girls are a favorite murder victim in slashers, and their deaths & shrieks tend to be much more prolonged than male victims (though ironically it's usually a teen girl who defeats the slasher....at least until the sequel), but then others pointed out how often cops also got killed in horror movies (and typically fast) but the only reason he hated it was not for the long, grueling torture of naive teens but because a cop got a quicker death than most of us will. And he said he just didn't believe movies should show cops getting killed (especially where the killers get away with it) as that was "crossing a line." Now young girls being raped & tortured, that was just entertainment for him.

I bet he'd have HATED the Angel ep Billy, though no cops are killed (wait, the half-demon Billy did infect one male cop with rabid misogyny that caused him to attack his female partner, can't recall how that turned out, but then as it was a male cop who attacked a female cop maybe he wouldn't have minded). It's the 2nd disc of season 3 if you want to see it (but it's important to know that a band of lawyers working for and with demons tortured Cordelia through occult means in a previous episode on disc 1 to force Angel to free Billy from Hell, it's this ep where the consequences of unleashing him are shown). I would've been curious what he thought of it and it HAD aired by the time the Ho1000C came out.

Hmmm....I wonder what he'd think of this vid?

Those "Fast and the Furious" movies are pretty awful. One of my friends has tried getting me to watch the first one about three times with him, and each time I ended up falling asleep on his sofa. Boring, boring boring!!!!

I'm very discriminating when it comes to films and I usually try to see what critics have to say and the reactions of friends before I make the decision to see something. Consequently I don't see really bad films. That said, there have been some of TV that I have tried to look at but because they bore me, I usually switch of before I throw something at the TV. I have to agree with one other poster and found "Lord of the Rings" a total bore, likewise the "Harry Potter" franchise.
