Not being able to orgasm if I have to urinate
#11
Through a digital examine, my prostrate is very slightly enlarged, but soft and normal in texture. The PSA is normal and there are no other abnormalities found. We did a trial of Flomax with absolutely no benefit. I then was given Ditropan with no effect except the side effect of dry mouth. It was supposed to allow the bladder to hold more liquid and allow me to "go" when I wanted vs having to go when "it" wanted. Now I get to have a kidney ultrasound on Tuesday and a cystoscopy on Wednesday to see if there are any physical issues seen.

This has never happened to me lol. Honestly if that keeps happening i'd contact a physician. Who knows what it could mean

Are there any physicians that really know what anything is except perhaps a broken arm or something so obvious you don't even need a medical license to identify it?

I don't find that weird whatsoever... Although, I technically can bust a nut if I have to pee, it takes way more ambition and effort to do so....

My advice?

Take a piss BEFORE you get down and dirty!

problem solved.

Trust me, I DO take a pee right before any sexual activity with him ever since I found this issue has affected my ability to orgasm. It doesn't help. I only have to go a little later on while we are having sex and then I have to excuse myself more than once till it just kills the mood.

I really hope that something obvious and easy to fix is found regarding this. I would like to believe that I have years of a sex life ahead of me.

Medicine is not an exact science.

No two human beings are exactly identical. While there are lists of symptoms for everything, the reality is that few individuals get all the symptoms or just the same set of symptoms.

Not everyone is affected by an ailment the same way either.

Doctors work with a list of symptoms, and they approach that list treating the most common ailment that has those symptoms.

And your case is sort of unique, with what 30 different medications you can be taking at any time? Chemistry can affect a lot.

You could be taking something that is preventing the prostate from showing clear signs of infection - thus have a 'low grade' infection which is chronic and just not presenting with typical symptoms because of Drug X in your system.

Your genetic make-up and design may mean that even a slightly enlarged prostate is enough to muck up the plumbing to cause issues with the urine...

I still advise that you stop taking as many of the medicines as possible and try to start from scratch to treat everything.

I think you are on way too many pills and most likely all of them are interacting and reacting with one another causing a lot of issues which do not present in real symptoms that a doctor can keep track of.

And don't rely on the doctor to know the chemistry here. A pharmacologist is a specialist in the chemistry of drugs. S/he goes through special schooling and continues specializing in drugs and chemistry where a GP specializes in nothing, and a cardiologist specializes in just the heart and a orthopedist specializes in just the skeletal system - they only know their narrow range of medications, and most have no clue how it affects other medicines.

I find it's more of a problem for me as I have gotten older I might be hard as a diamond but if my bladder is full I get no pleasurable sensations.

Bowyn,

You are right in that I am on WAY too many meds. I am in fact, meeting with my doctor to stop ALL medications asap...starting with Paxil...which is known to cause sexual side affects. I have already stopped 5. As you know when you live rurally, finding specialists is very difficult. If need be, I will take the reins and stop my meds myself and on my terms.

This doesn't happen to me, not exactly. However, I absolutely have to pee before I have sex or else I either can't orgasm, or the time that it takes to happen will be way off (either super fast, or ridiculously long).

And it doesn't even matter if I barely need to use the bathroom at all, it's just...I absolutely have to go.

I have this problem at night too, I have to pee right before laying down to bed. There is no side-track stuff, there's no walking to get a drink or turn off a light after using the bathroom, or talking in bed. If I don't get to immediately lay down and start trying to fall asleep, I'll need to get back up and use the bathroom in a few minutes.

Even laying on my side for a few minutes (usually the right side) causes me to need to urinate pretty fast. Laying on my left side is better, and there is no alternatives because of my back - I simply cannot lay on my stomach or back because of my back surgery from several years ago, it's too uncomfortable and I get sore really quickly.

I wake up usually 2 or 3 times a night to go pee.

Doesn't matter what I drink during the day. In fact, water itself actually seems to make it happen even worse Tongue

I don't have insurance so I've never been able to get it checked out. I wonder if I have something wrong with my prostate or if it's all psychological, or even if it's a byproduct of my back surgery.

THIS HAPPENS TO ME TOO! I think is a psychological thing tho, and less of a physical problem.
