Very Homopobic People May Actually be Gay, Says Study
#1
"Why have some of the nation's most vehement anti-gay activists—Ted Haggard, Larry Craig—had gay sex scandals of their own? An op-ed in the New York Times' Sunday Review section tries to explain. The authors of the piece, two research psychologists, say they have "empirical evidence that homophobia can result, at least in part, from the suppression of same-sex desire." Their argument—summed up in the Times headline as "Homophobic? Maybe You're Gay"—promises to resolve a long-running debate in the field."*

According to a study, some who described themselves as "anti-gay" and "highly straight" may actually be repressed and gay themselves.

Dammit. This means 95% of the boys in my last school might have been gay. So many orgy opportunities wasted.

I thought this was old news, but now there's a study on it? Very interesting.

Huh. So we finally have a study to confirm this then huh.

If these people were as straight and as confident in their sexuality as they thought, they'd be perfectly content around gay people and not be bothered by them

I wouldn't be surprised...but I think that's exactly why I'm not going to believe such outright; sounds too right to me, I want to believe it to be the case.

From a personal view when I was a kid (around 10-13) I was extremely homophobic. Well look at me today.

Yeah. Too busy right now to do the research but I seem to remember another one from about 10-15 years ago where they measured the sexual response (erection) of men while they watched gay porn. The haters actually registered more of a response than the "indifferent" ones.

More proof that the opposite of love is NOT hate, but indifference.
