Dismantle All The Churches?
#11
yes
churches have done more bad than good through time.

there have been thousands of religions, millions of gods. WTF; each one calming to be new and better. On that basis you can assume
-the members are NOT looking for the one truth
-members are very gullible
-the resulting organizations are suspect to corruption power grabbing.

i grew up in the 60's in n america and never thought things would become so conservative.
the links between church and government are strong here.

I would like to see the various religions pay property tax on their properties for sure and their associated businesses have to abide by discrimination laws already in place.

No

I'm strongly anti-theist, and have a particular hatred for Christianity; but to dismantle all churches I feel would be stooping to their level of immaturity and zealotry.

Now TAXING the churches......that's a whole other kettle of fish I am STRONGLY for however......

I got news news for you. Religion will never NOT exist. Sure Christianity might die. But humans will find another stupid fucking dogma to cling to and they will find weaklings to follow them forever and ever till we die.

Sleep tight.

Dismantling churches would be completely beneficial to all religions. It will reduce overheads even though the church has enormous tax breaks there are still expenses involved in maintaining a building.

Dismantling a church will in no way affect a religion, as with all other business's, the church can now spruik it's wares on the internet and pester the non-believers with a wonderful tool call spam which has been used very efficiently by various other scammers, the Nigerians for example.

Dismantling churches would also give us another invaluable, sandstone blocks, then I would be able to build that dream retaining wall I always wanted to build from sandstone.

Dismantling the church...it can only be a WIN WIN can't it?

No.

My current/future career = church organist. Do I need to elaborate?

Actually, you can tear down all the modern churches you want. I'll help. But you need to leave all the old ones (1930's and earlier) simply for their historic, cultural value.

Now, what I think of Christianity is quite another story (I was raised Catholic, that turned out great Evil_lol) But tearing down all the churches would not solve any bigotry problems or anything, nor would it do anything to really hinder the existence of the religion.....

Dismantling them provides an argument for discrimination I wouldn't want to contribute to, but I do think that revoking tax-exempt status for the larger organizations (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, DESERET) might be beneficial in the long run.

edit: I know there is a difference between taking them all down and telling them to pay their dues, I'm just not in the eloquent mind at the moment to make my point...

Your a fool...Dismantling all the churches would be the same as wiping the history pages clear and rewriting them.
Churches have their place here on earth, often there amazing buildings and the art work that has gone into them is amazing.
I take it you've never been or seen European churches before the majority of these buildings are 100's of years old with so much history and culture hidden in those walls.
Like it or not religion will always have a place of this earth, just the same way we as the LGBT community will have a place to call our own.
I don't think you understand the amount of revenue the church brings to most nations hence why most nations will never separate church from state its that plain and simple.
