I'm no wizard but try this, it's white, not dark magicks - a spell for recovery/reset.

In your spell voice while hold the LG5600 tightly in your left hand, extend over your head high as you can, say the following three time: work Goddammit!

If it doesn't recovery/reset maybe it's time to start looking for the Newer(ish) phone.

Technomancy - that should be easy to remember.

Well I did try magic words earlier... but I didn't try holding it above my head.

What do you mean newer phone, this ones in perfectly good working order, should last for decades....!

MissingNYC forgot the mineral oil-purified quartz and burning sage.

Also, I find I usually like the hopping on one foot in a circle and saying "Oooo" in a high voice while tapping my lips with my fingers held flat.

ya just because it is a USB cable doesn't mean it can transfer data. A lot of them are used to just charge, try getting an LG data cable for your phone.

If it still doesnt work check the LG forums, theres almost always an answer.

Well, I am afraid that it is "LG issue"... It seems that you can either send the picture to your computer via texts or emails (and pay for it), or send them to the Verizon online album (and pay for the data transfer), use Bluetooth, or... nothing. LG simply doesn't expect people to connect a phone to a computer by a cable...

I will do some more research, but if anyone knows how to do the following, it will be great if you share your experience. Right now BitPim looks like a dirty word to me... I have no idea what it is

this is one of the posts, that seemed to help people:

Quote: Alex,

You do not need to obtain USB drivers on the Mac platform. Thanks to TomH's post, I was able to download (surprisingly good for the device it is) pictures from my cellphone using the "LG-VX9100" Do not use "auto-detect" as there's no relevant device description in the current version of BitPim. Here's what you should try (on Mac, probably very similar on Windows)

Do not connect your phone until step #7, in case you have "autodetect" enabled
Open BitPim
Go to the BitPim menu and choose "Preferences"
Choose "LG-VX9011 (enV 2)" from the "Phone Type" services.
Disable "Detect phone at bitpim startup" this is a waste of time with the LG VX5600, and bitpim is a bit unstable, at least on Mac it is.
Click "OK"
Connect your phone
Click on the leftmost icon representing "Get Data" You can choose from a number of options, but right now only Wallpaper (which are your photos) and SMS work reliably. "PhoneBook" will crash Bitpim

I would love a device-specific definition for the LX-5600 but this is an open-source project, and unless we contribute, we love every gem from that effort.

^^^ Sounds like dark magics to me - Tecnomancy.... As bad as Necromancy no doubt.
