Zet, he told me he is gay. Just said it. He told me he had a crush on a boy at school and that boys make him feel weird inside and girls don't. He also told me that when he hears his older brother talk about a girl he likes and dated for a bit and his sister talk about crushes on boys, he knows how they feel because he feels that feeling about boys. He told me he was going to tell his sister but nobody else and please don't tell dad. I mentioned in my first post how I responded and I also reassured him that it was up to him to tell people when he was ready even if it was not for years to come. That he could trust me.

edited to add, I had a talk with my daughter after about how important it is to respect his wishes on privacy. She is so excited for him. She loves that he is so brave.

You're a good momma, and I love you a little for raising kids that understand love and humanity.

Some part of me has known since I was probably 8, when I noticed I liked comic books with developed bodies in tight clothes, but it started taking root around 11, when I figured out erections didn't always mean I had to pee really bad...

Yesterday I had and experience at work that just made me smile ear to ear. A mother with her 6-7 year old son came in to my shop. The young fella excitedly comes upto the counter holding his favourite drink. It was a drink with Barbie as a Princess pictures all over the bottle. He was eager for mum to pay for so he could hold it. Mum could tell from my reaction that I was as accepting and tolerant as her, she didn't care that her son liked a drink with princess's all over it, she cared that he was happy, and yes that little boy was the happiest boy I had seen.

Any mum that can do that is doing a good job Smile

I know it is a little off topic, but this thread just reminded me of that encounter yesterday.

That makes me smile too. That could have been me and my son a few 5 years ago Smile He loves love princess stuff too! Off topic I took him to see Billy Elliott live last year and he was just amazed by it. Too see a musical about a boy being able to express himself and another boy who liked boys enjoyed girl clothes and were able to express themselves , its hard to put into words his reaction to it. It was amazing, like a lightbulb for him. Almost like if it was written in a play then he was not the only one who ever felt this way.

I think for a lot of people, you can retrospectively easily know you're gay. What is difficult is to put a word on this attraction.

I remember one night when I was sth like 8, I told to myself "Oh noo, I'm homosexual" and then read that it changed during the adolescence. I'm still waiting for this change now

My mommy says I came outta her uterus with rainbows and glitters and she lives for it sis!

I made a video about coming out and stuff and basically, I feel like I never had to "come out" to anyone or have my sexuality misconstrued by anyone.

Everyone knows and knew from day 1. Not entirely because I'm gayer than a 3 dollar bill, but because I used to like to play with dolls and do hair and stuff...heck I still do those things lol!

It's great your baby boy can open up to you, although I will say, even though my experience was fabulous and amazing, I do think you may want to educate your son, just so that he doesn't learn what to do from his ace girls(girlfriends), cause it's not gonna be the same Undecided . My girlfriend in highschool tried to teach me about BJs and I was like, gurl please o_O.

Do you think the fact you played with dolls is related with the fact you're gay now? It's a serious question. I know that hetero case.
