 Coz my mum is quite brainy and not as common and like most of the chavs and such that live on our estate... (although she is no where NEAR like bucket really is!). She also used to say "watch this" and "watch that" while my dad was driving... as she's a nervous passenger heh.

I was just reminded of the greatest American comedy ever.

It is called: Strangers with Candy. (1999)

Here is the tag line from the movie: High school is difficult... for a 47-year-old ex-con junkie crack whore.

Here is the plot outline: Jerri Blank is a 46-year-old "boozer, user and a loser" who tries to put her life back together again. The reformed runaway and addict returns to high school as a freshman, where she tries to fit in and act hip with girls 1/3 her age. Unfortunately, she hasn't quite shed her immoral background or acquired any ethics, and her bizarre family and frustrated schoolmates have trouble interacting with her.

Two of the male teachers are in a (not so secret) gay relationship.

The funniest comedy on tv ever!

Nope. Driving instructor once said to her "straight over this roundabout" (which i dunno if you even have roundabouts or if you use the term straight over but usually means the exit directly across)... it wasn't a mini painted-on-the-road roundabout, it was a full grass-growing roundabout... and she literally drove over it... how stupid can you get Laugh so she gave up in the interest of public safety hehe! Laugh

I tend to agree with you about British comedy vs. US comedy. Comedy over here has gone downhill in recent decades.

Perhaps Lucille Ball was the last huge comedy on TV.
The silent films of the late Hal Roach provided rich comedy in the early part of the twentieth century, however.

I love your comedy, and have watched reruns for far too long a time, of "Are you Being Served", not to mention Keeping Up Appearances, Faulty Towers, you name it, I've enjoyed it.

My favorite British comedy, however, is televised here in the US on the C-Span (Congressional) network. It's the Prime Minister's Question period in the House of Commons. Nothing beats that show for a good laugh.

I love Family Guy

I think the ability to make us laugh is a great think whether it's British or American
