Omelette is indeed scrambled eggs... but in French Canadian (Quebecois mostly)

Omelette is pronounced - "Home - Let"

A man is pronounce "Hum" but is written "Homme"

Ugly is translated as "laid" not laid dirty mind lol - we do not pronounce the "d" at the end

So it sounds like just like "lay" but with more nasal consonant.

But in Quebec our colloquial has turn "lay" into "let" therefore an Omelette is " Un homme laid" turned into ridicule and as a joke one will say they're having "un homme lette" for breakfast - translation "I am having an ugly man for breakfast" which is not true at all lol.

But you're right an omelette is the dish... but it's actually "Une omelette au fromage" not "Omelette du fromage"
