I wanted to slap someone today.
#11
My own observation is they become defensive and furious should their "intuition" (which her gaydar could be considered a part of) is called into question. I believe what happens in their mind (subconsciously) is this:

Their feelings are so real they mistake them for reality rather than a response to reality, and their subjective reality is literally stronger than objective reality to their minds. Everyone, without exception, has a brain that tends to confirm its bias but in this case it's EXTREME, and therefore they will say "my intuition is always right" (or the more modest "almost always"). One reason I believe they're aware at some level it's not is because they brag about how right it is to others so that OTHERS believe it to make it easier for them to believe it themselves. And therefore when anyone calls it into question they become upset and furious not only because they feel (and their feelings ARE objective reality in their minds) they're being called liars but because if they came to doubt their delusions of instinctive omniscience then that would threaten the very foundation of how they understand the world, and that way lies madness, therefore their delusional feelings become part that must be protected by the "fight or flight" survival instincts...and that potentially makes them dangerous.

Btw, such women (and I presume men) also tend to consider the feelings of OTHERS as more relevant than objective reality. For example, one such woman who thought she had an infallible intuition tried to hire a hitman (though she was wrong when she was busted by an undercover cop) to kill her husband, but she wanted it done fast before he realized he was being killed...it looked to me that she felt if he didn't realize he was being murdered then he wasn't, it was just "an accident" with no one's feelings hurt. I bet how badly she erred in not realizing the man she thought was a hitman was actually a cop (and all the feelings that came up by husband, family, neighbors, etc, when she was exposed) was probably worse to her than prison itself (not that I have any sympathy for her). Point being is people like that live in a world where their feelings ARE reality rather than mere byproduct of it.

I don't care if you're straight or gay, unless she's coming at you with a chainsaw or something similar, a man should never hit a woman. It's a sign of weakness and cowardice.

Although it's pretty patronizing to say abusing a woman is a worse crime than abusing a man because it implies women, by default mind you, are fragile and unable to defend themselves. A person, female or male, should never hit another person, period. The only exception is when it comes to self-defense and it that case it really shouldn't matter whether it's a man or a woman.

First of all, I was kidding. I agree with SolemnBoy on his stance on violence. It's never appropriate to put your hands on ANYONE (unless you're life's in danger ..... blah blah blah). Wanting to slap someone for saying they have "gaydar" is clearly an overreaction I made for comic effect.

Second of all, if I did choose to attack this woman (or most women for that matter) I have no delusions about the outcome... she'd beat the shit out of me.

Wade. I knew you were only letting out your frustration and wouldn't actually slap anyone.

As for an overreaction that happens when we get upset and frustrated with people who seem to say stupid stuff.

We are still here for you and have your back. All you have to do is ask Smile
