Pix Wrote:I watch very little porn but from what I've seen I can say I prefer straight porn made by women for women to that of lesbian porn made by men for men. Natch, lesbian porn made by lesbians for lesbians is the best (IMO)!

ETA: Oh yeah, there's a type of "gay male" comic from Japan that's by women for women (though the heteronormative values are such that I wasn't able to tell it was 2 men at first when just flipping through one such book). That was sweet, and it did appeal to me. There's another kind made by gay men for gay men and what little I've seen of it is much more explicit with less romantic plots. I found it mildly interesting (as a curiosity) but only for a short while.

Be careful, though, Pix. Even the ones made by women tend to have some pretty annoying flaws. Since I was somewhat interested in anime and manga a few years ago (still am to a lesser extent), obviously I started exploring the gay material once I came out. I found that it's almost impossible to find shounen-ai (boy's love) without some of these nasties:

1. Unnecessary focus on the sex and little to no attention given to plot and characters.
2. Borderline offensive characterization. Usually the more cute and feminine guy is completely incapable of taking care of himself so his masculine counterpart looks after him in a relationship that's far from being equal.
3. Since the more masculine man always has the upper hand it's not unusual for him to "force himself" upon the cuter guy. I'm not talking about pornographic material, just a regular love story. Sometimes the cuter guy resists and yells for him to stop only to realize he likes it. This is probably the most offensive part of it all...

I'm sure there are a few shounen-ai who break these trends but I doubt there are many of them.

Good to know in case I ever bring it up with someone. That could be triggering for someone I told should check them out. :frown:

The ones I saw were for sale at a major bookstore so they likely only had the "least offensive" kinds (or maybe they put subtle clues on the cover as to the "flavor" just like romance novels do and I instinctively went to the sweeter kind).

Romances can be that way, too. Where "no, no" turns into "oh, yes," followed by love it's called "forcible seduction." While some cite the scene where Rhett Butler carries Scarlett up the stairs in Gone With the Wind as an example of this (IIRC, the next scene in the movie has her smiling the next morning after he presumably raped her) they can actually get much more intense than that...sometimes instead of calling it "forcible seduction" they even call it "dubious consent"! Scared

Oh well, at least as long as they label the content so those who actually like that sort of thing can find it (and spare the rest of us). I recall when I picked up a romance at a public library when I was 16 (reading it there as I didn't have a card) and while I could tell it would be on the racy side given the cover being borderline porn (and I was curious) it included Confederate soldiers gang raping a black women to death (I just skimmed through it thinking she was going to be saved and it ended with their leader moaning that he missed out because she died before he got his turn) which made me turn several pages to skip that and came to a character being forced to give analingus while her underage daughter was forced to give oral to the same man at the same time, and at that point I just put it away and stayed away from romances with covers like that. Ironically I found an explicit cowboy porn novel for men (that I read at 14) less disturbing as at least it was funny rather than exceedingly depressing.

No where here do you make mention of any exaggerative extremities in lesbian relationships or sex in lesbian porn, nor did you clearify as to why you found this funny other than to say it is unbelievable which bladdey well goes without saying, as porn, like acting, is generally fake and unbelievable any who...Oh I ejaculated inside of your pussy...like 8 times and you didn't get pregnant? Well how is that?....

And so begs the question as to why you would have to even state all of that. A simple "I watch Lesbian porn, even though I'm not sexually aroused by it, how about you guys?" would've done it.

And probably not even all of that, but then we coulda said yes or no and moved on with our queer ass lives, instead of questioning you as to why you said this how you did and having you need to defend yourself.

Honestly, I personally would have never even started the thread.

I watch Lesbian porn, k great, Why does everyone and their left handed granny gotta know?

Please in de future, approach your topics and comments more tactfully, as while you shouldn't walk on egg shells, you should neither be so crass.

Just Odi's 1.95$

And I am not trying to be mean or rude, just honest. I know some people here are gonna come some way with this, but it is what it is.

I already told you that my point was misinterpreted. I thought everyone was aware of the extreme exaggeration that takes place in lesbian porn.

I can't say I ever watch lesbian porn....
be it for pleasure or comedy.

Maybe that's because I'm gay,
and a rational person?

The same applies,
when it comes to horse or owl porn.

You see, they get kinda mad because you are specifically talking about lesbian porn as if gay or straight porn wasn't as exagerated. my problem is that you still are...

But Hunni darling, I got that, I was showing you, that we didn't get the "Misinterpretation" as there was nothing but what it was from your original statement to interpret.

You did darling, come back and say that we must have misunderstood, yes, but however, how else do you expect us to respond with very limited stimuli to go on?

We are aware of porn's idiosyncrasies, however, we do not automatically link that to you saying "I find Lesbian porn hilarious, doesn't gross me out, just don't find it sexually interesting" or whatever you said word for word.

You made no clear inclination to say that was what you were trying to get at.

However, now we know, but just know for future is all I am saying, that if something is unclear, someone is bound to get confused and even offended.
