Any time I can help please call on me...

I may have spoken too soon. I had some silly problems but tech support believes my MIGRATION went bad and have asked me to back up and re-install the OS then run migration again

Another half day out of my life

Thanks Frank but you're no much for South African customer care consultants.I was basically told to take a hike by Nokia SA after the 3 consecutive phones they gave me still had faulty music players.

Did you get names? Did you ask to speak to a manager? To the managers' manager?

I dont know the system in SA but the phone industry is highly regulated in USA. If I had your problem I would complain to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) & FCC (Federal Communications Commission) & my local state District Attorney & the state where Nokia was registered in. If I had to return the phone and I was refused a return/refund and I paid for it with a credit card I would dispute the charge with the bank... I could go on and on...

My MBP migration went well last nite and seems to be running smoothly but 5 hours to go thru the whole OS rebuild

I think I do sometimes allow companies to walk all over me.Growing up,my Nana was vesy good at complaining and used to cause scenes wherever she took us.If anyone in my family had probs with a company, she'd throw my brother and I in the Fiat and we'd go to help her complain to the companies. It was very embarassing for us.So I always play nice with everyone, don't want to be seen as a pest.

Have you not noticed, though, Dan? Pests always have their say and always get away with it... Nasty creatures.

I think I was just called a Nasty creature

Apple has actually verbally thanked me for taking the time. They say it helps their company to be better. Dont know if that is BS...

Actually that is part of my philosophy. Not everyone is able to sit at home on the phone for hours.

On the keyboard problems... there was an extremely vocal group on the Apple forums. We wouldnt let the issue go. We posted all over the internet and the issue was recognized by Apple and eventually fixed.

This is how politics is suppose to work in the USA. We elected representatives to stand for our rights. We are suppose to write or call their office and let them know our positions on laws coming up for votes. That is one of the jobs their staff do. Sit and take a tally of opinions.

No Frank, I would never DARE to!! I think you are a wise consumer, that's quite a different kettle of fish.

I'm talking about real PESTS, the ones that get their own way when they don't deserve it, just by forcing themselves upon others in such a disagreeable manner that in the end, the nice ones give in... There are plenty out there... It's quite different from being a consumer exercising their normal rights for the money they have paid. After all, why would there be such a notion as a guarantee for a product, if it weren't for a certain right to have the product work and perform normally for a specified time?
