Advice needed: Anal sex after... um... hemorrhoid surgery :-(

I had a double stapled haemorroidectomy about 6 years ago. The proceedure removes a section of the bowel/anus with the roids attached and staples the 2 end back together.

Its a fucking daunting proceedure, but in my case it was something that had to be done and in the end after a few days of discomfort it was pretty much 'much ado about nothing'

Roids are basically varicose veins in the bum, blood loaded veins that protrude through a weak spot in the bowel/anus wall and can prolapse out of your bum sometimes and over time get fissures and start to bleed.

Anal sex would not be the best thing for haemorroids and I doubt it would be terrible good after surgery either, but if the only pain you are having during or after anal sex is the worry of weather you are making things worse, then I don't see a reason why you can't continue to enjoy arse fucking. You know your own body, you know how far it can go.

Personally, I myself have never really enjoyed a cock being rammed up my arse, so I couldn't tell you if it is good or bad with roids, but I do understand why you hesitate and question as when the roids flare up it isn't terribly comfortable.

You don't need to have surgery on your haemmaroids, they aren't dangerous, they can be left as they are until they start to bleed from fissures or interfere with your day to day life and comfort.

Fixing your diet is the best way to avoid further problems, a diet rich in fibre and remove as many processed foods as possible, and as someone about mentioned Metamucil or Psyllum Husks added to the diet would help as well.

The best advice you will ever get is from your own GP, so if you have any concerns go and have a chat with your doctor...rest assured, I believe most doctors have been up to their elbows in other peoples arses Wink
Hi dfiant1,

I appreciate the call to talk openly and without shame. Right on. I generally have no qualms about discussing sex, but I guess I'm a little wary of grossing people out talking about hemorrhoids. Not exactly an aesthetic topic... And particularly since I've never posted on here before. But thanks.

And thanks also for sharing your experience with hemorrhoid surgery. Glad it worked out for you. I realize that mine aren't really a serious health problem, but I do think they're at the point that they might interfere and make me self-conscious about sex... and since I DO love "having a cock rammed up my arse" (as you say), well, I will probably go ahead and do something about it.

And by the way, you don't know what you're missing... Being a bottom is AWESOME.... ;-)

Hi!
Just thought I share my experience with you. I've had hemorrhoids since I was 19. Pretty young but well that's the way it goes. I really looked after my diet an I've always done lots of sports. Anyway the hemorrhoids came and I suffered a lot. I was often in pain and had blood in the stool but what really bothered me was that it when I met my partner I felt extremely insecure about my hemorrhoids when it came to anal sex. I often made excuses, not because I wasn't in the mood but simply because I had a good idea what my bum looks like and also sometimes it was just too painfull. After a couple of years then I was recommended a proctologist who is specialised in hemorrhoids, made an appointment and was told it was time to consider surgery. I really wasn't impressed, as I had heard stories where people were in pain afterwards for a long time, no anal sex for months and scarring...But then the doctor told me about the THD method, a pretty new treatment. The hemorrhoids are basically ligated, so there is no tissue removed. It's fast (most people can go home the same day) and also the healing process is known to be fast. I still didn't feel like sex for a good 6 weeks, but afterwards it wasn't a problem at all.I guess if you listen a bit to your body it tells you what's going on and what is right or wrong. Mine said for a weeks "no way" but my partner stood by my side and now I can finally fully let go and enjoy anal sex.

Good luck with everything and as the others said, there's nothing wrong with talking freely about your body and well, hemorrhoids are a part of it...
