^^^^ Most of the women I have known that got knocked up get all 'oh feel the baby kick' and even grab my hands to direct my palm to feel the parasite wiggling around devouring their intestines or whatever creepy thing goes on during pregnancy.

So I think the hands on thing is predominately pushed by pregnant women who are proud to be growing something in their gut.

there are lot of people who just go ahead and put their hands on the bump without asking if it's okay.
if they asked, it would be totally fine. but because they don't, it's uncomfortable for her and not a whole lot of fun.
