This goes for ALL retail......food, clothing, grocery, gas, etc......
If wages were paid by stress level, then the retail industry would be one of the highest paid industries, and everybody would want to work in it.

I have worked in all sorts of retail for most of my life. Ive seen "adults" throw tantrums that would make a 3 year old blush, Ive seen "adults" stomp their feet and DEMAND that the cashier DO WHAT THEY SAY, Ive seen "adults" physically, verbally, and mentally abuse and threaten employees......I have even seen an old man scream, stomp his feet, and slam an item down on the counter so hard, it shattered into 100 pieces because he refused to follow the directions on the item he bought.

BUT.....

NOBODY is forcing these people to work retail. They have every right to leave and find something else. Just as the business has a right to fire the lazy shits and replace them with people who actually work.

You dont like something, file a complaint with management. Management cant do anything unless they know about the problem.

You don't even understand the people the come to fast food restaurants.

He probably believed he had been slighted for the 7th burger. He was likely only charged for 6, and asked to pay for the 7th.

Dear God you'd think that the world ended for some people. I get being a little upset, I TOTALLY GET THAT IT'S AN INCONVENIENCE AND WE DESERVE A SOUR LOOK.

But often (using actual examples of what has happened at my job), people throw entire trays of food in our faces, lurk in the restaurant and murderously stare at us for hours, remind us of the order we got wrong for months, and poop on the floor in the washroom.

So I can honestly say that I am not in the least bit surprised.

By consequences, I mean possibly a retraining session or something.

You're actually ridiculous. You think a restarant is going to re-train for every order prepared incorrectly? Of the orders I get wrong, perhaps 1-2 out of several hundred per shift, it's usually the customer's fault. The will quite honestly say, "I want 3 JBCs" and then be like "Where is my nugget?" when I hand them the bag.

So I smile and I'm like, "Oh silly me, I didn't punch it in Smile ". Even if the mistake is my fault, that's still how I'd fix it. If a menu item is prepared incorrectly it gets replaced for free.

And when there's a rush the average employee has to take 3 orders, run those orders, possibly having to coordinate 20-50 items sometimes per order, while remembering what drinks to make, keeping a tab on what has been prepared, preparing applicable food items yourself, helping out possible new employees on the verge of mental breakdowns, reassuring customers who have been waiting for 30 seconds that we haven't forgotten their order when they see someone who ordered after them receiving a drink, and dealing with ridiculous issues like the fact that we get drunk people who assault people and delay our orders. Meanwhile, once we complete the 3 orders, there are 20 or so more people in line that are pissed off to high heaven because they waited 30 seconds - 5 whole minutes for their meal (a small order taking 30 seconds to complete and a large order taking several minutes).

If you actually think there's not skill involved in this, you are ridiculous. I'm training in nursing and want to work in an emergency room setting, and expect my job in that environment to be more slowly paced than the one I have now, perhaps even easier while more mentally stimulating.

I think it should be LAW, that if some shitbrain is going to throw a tantrum, call the police, or get violent over something as ludicrous as the things these morons get hostile about, they should me FORCED BY LAW to work in THAT retail establishment for one month, to see how it is and what employees have to put up with.

I had some cunt throwing a tantrum one time, stomping, kicking, and threatening to kill me, and assorted other violent acts....all because SHE was TOO FUCKING LAZY to get to the store and get what she wanted BEFORE we ran out!!!! These shitbags need to be euthanized, because there is NO excuse for anyone behaving like this.

Ok, so when you work there, you have in charge maybe 100 orders a day. Someone who's doing 99 orders corectly is a failure?
I hate when someone denigrates a job.

You cant judge all employees by one lousy one. Whats the saying? "One rotten apple spoils the bunch"?

On the defense of the employees, this is a BUSY establishment at any time of day. The McDonalds signs state "billions served" for a reason.....THEY ARE BUSY.

Just because ONE employee couldnt be bothered to check an order before they handed it to the customer, dont blame all of them for that screw up.

NO!
If you were getting paid minimum wage are you going to give that much of a rats ass?
I sure as hell don't care about 90% of the customers I serve. And the 10 OR LESS can either make or break my day u.u

The thing is there's probably decent McDonald's employees and bad ones. No there not all wonderful and doing a fantastic job. In UK even in fast food places, people are polite, the man wouldve gotten the seventh burger, not attitude.
