Astonishing photos from WWII and just after

Be warned, some of these are fairly hard hitting:

Astonishing documentary material..

London was hit pretty hard I see..I'd hate to see how Coventry was like afterwards..

and Berlin...jeez....beautiful, beautiful Berlin wrecked because of some megalomaniac and people who followed him...sad thing...

curious about the churches hit..

in Köln it was the other way arround, the city was pretty much leveled except for the cathedral

That was really moving Sad I pray that we will never have to deal with another war, it sucks that even at this point in time it could still be possible.

Thank you for sharing Smile

Thank you Curiosity. Unfortunately man's inhumanity to man continues to this day. Look at what is happening in Syria and Iraq. So many historical treasures and people being destroyed.

Beautiful and meaningful, too.

America played a huge role (and they later contained Stalin) but it was the USSR that truly defeated Hitler.

Canada seems to have played a very important part too, but most people forget it today.

Ww2 fascinates me the whole strategy of it all. My favourite picture is the one of St. Paul's in London during the blitz with all the buildings around it burning, but it was still standing strong. Was ment to inspire hope to the nation. (Apologies tried to put it on here but it wouldn't work :/)
