Boyfriend and I don't have many common hobbies. What do you guys do together?
#1
At Christmastime, my boyfriend and I had a long discussion about me being lazy and not liking anything he does and not trying new things. So, I decided that I'd put a real effort into thinking of things we can do together and hobbies we can both have. THis is not as easy as I thought and I'm turning to you guys now for help! I have searched the internet for ideas but things like "make sexytimes a priority this year" and "play games" aren't helping me! I want for us to be able to get along with the things we do like games. I'm bad for being jealous and getting mad when someone is better than me at games, therefore I am a really poor sport! I'm working on this. And I do not want to just have sex all the time. That's not really what I see relationships as. Sure, I love cuddles, hugs, kisses, and sex a lot, but spending time together is one of the most important things in a relationship, in my opinion and we both agree. But it's all on my end! I can't think of things that we could both continually do and have something to talk about. I'm lazy and have not been able to get into the shows (Avatar and Torchwood) he likes and the games we like are one player so we don't really get to play those together!

tl;dr:
I need a hobby for my boyfriend and I to do so we can continue to be happy!

EDIT:
Everyone seems to be upset with me. We talked about it, okay? And we decided that we need to find common ground. This post wasn't to upset anyone! It was to ask you what you guys do so that we can get some ideas! Sure, I could've worded it differently. I'm not the best at wording things! Sorry about that! :/

MOVIES!!!
Thats what my brothers and their girlfriends do.
My brothers also do their own thing most of they time. While their girlfriends do their own things. Like my brother plays computer while his girlfriend runs people over on GTA
And my other brother plays battle field while his GF plays on her Ipad....
And I'm single -.-

It's nice to have common interests or share hobby's, but it isn't essential.

The jealousy thing you may have to deal with so that each of you can enjoy your own hobbies and persuits in the company of those that sahre the same hobby's.

Your partner laying blame on you is also inappropriate, you both have issues to deal with before you can 'share' anything.

Relationship counselling, there is something you can do together Wink lol

But seriously, if he is laying the blame at your feet and expecting you to change to suit him, then it is he that needs to reassess who is actually the 'lazy' one.

ever thought I've team sports or something creative that you can do together?

Me and my bf are thinking of learning a language together and he wants to get into costume design so i was thinking of getting back into my airbrushing to help out with the painting.

or you could do a photography course or find a two person sport. if your own the same team it is less important if you are fiercly compedative against someone else.

tl; dr?.......clearly you haven't seen some of the threads we have had here Biglaugh

oh, well, firsts thing first

logic.....resort to blunt logic..

make a list of indoor and outdoor activites you enjoy and would enjoy if you shared them with him..

have him make a list of the indoor and outdoor activities that he likes and that he would like if you shared them.

Compare the lists and and make the intersection...fairly easy...at least one activity is bound to appear that suits both of you, no?

Thanks! I feel like we need to do stuff together or we'll have nothing to talk about. And I read, play games, come here, and reddit when he's busy. Like now, he's working and will probably read this when he gets home. Tongue

And yes, tl;dr... I am a lazy reader, so I help out the other lazy readers by providing them with a tl;dr. Smile

Yeah.... no, we have like no similar interests. It's sad, but we can't let that get the best of us! We are working on lists, but i know we will not have anything very close on them. Sad
I think I'll just force myself to like the things he likes is all.

We are 0% sporty.
I know sign language. I suppose I could teach him some...
Hmmm... He said he'd come with me when i take pictures, but doesn't have any interest in it!

Thanks! I'll keep these in mind anyway!

that's not a very good idea....force yourself....nope....try, more on the side of in which activities you can both compromise a bit...like you do a thing with him he likes but you don't very much and he does the same for you....maybe?

so you both can find middle ground?
