Relationships...

JohnnyB Wrote:I've had about five. To be honest I have made some catestropic descisions when it comes to men in the past. But then they all seemed to be nice guys and it can't all be them and I just wish I knew the reason why so I could get some closure on it. Which is something I never seem to get when a relationship finishes so I'm left wondering why.

Some other questions....

Where are you meeting guys?

I do think that you have to be open to meeting people anywhere. You never know when the magic will hit.

I you have trouble figuring out who is a decent person it might be difficult. I have always been really lucky with figuring out who was a good person pretty quickly.

I guess that I am a good listener and I find that very important in building a good relationship. I also try to give my partner everything... but gotta be careful being too smothering!

IDEA: next time you meet a nice guy video tape the whole relationship then post it here and we can tell you where you went wrong Laugh1

Thank you sweet pee.....

NO really, You know when you were young and you think you love someone to the point you allow that someone to hurt and you are still convinced you love them....

That was me for about two years until I found him bed with someone else.

We even had a blessing before it was legalised, I felt so sorry for the guest's who bought us presents, it was and felt like a farce.

Even when we spilt up, he rang me one day out of the blue when I was seeing my present partner and told me he was Positive+ and said that I should get my self checked out, another time he said we were married and I coudln't leave him.

Johnny, and do you really need some relationships for a long time?.. May be it's better to try, to have some fun and to meet some new guys.. havin' sex and some fun may be...
see you, even now, staying with my BF for about 4 years, I am not sure that my life could be vapid if I have had some partners... I am not talking that I am sorry for these 4 years - I've got a lot of positive... and sometimes I think: "hey! I really love Him! ))".
BUT. Each person has his own way to be happy and, who knows, may be you shouldn't hurry to find somebody forever... )) 24 is not the age to solve this... You have enough time to trying and choosing.. be happy! ))

Its interesting that you say that cos I actually tried it not that long ago. I knew it wouldn't go anywhere when was seeing this guy and we decided to just have fun... And sure as day, after a few times I developed feelings for him and am currently avoiding him like the plague. He was a really nice guy but he dropped me and now he has a new boyf. I really didn't see that coming and now I find it difficult to be around him... In fact thats the same for most of my ex's now. Its easier to just stay away.

Very confusing indeed... Star. No one should be allowed to treat anyone that way. So was he really HIV+? or was he just being cruel? Did you come out of it unscathed? Not really, it seems. Poor you!

Anyhow on a lighter note; I didn't know pee could be sweet (rather salty I'd have said, not that I know about it) (maybe it depends what you've eaten and drunk???) but a sweet pea is a different matter altogether, love. haha.
In French: pee = la pisse (or for children, commonly, pipi)
pea = petit pois (sweet peas = pois de senteur, because they are not only pretty, they also smell nice.)

Yes he was HIV+ he apparently became infected shortly after I left him and he was being cruel I was tested and retested a time after and was HIV-

I did come out of the whole relationship relitively (just a few scars) unscathed as I had very good friends around me at the time who looked after me.

At one point towards the end my freind had to man handle my ex as he broke in the flat i was staying in at the time, subsequently the police were called

God forbid! I've have had a lot of partners before have met Ivan... And he has had no one before... so he's insisted to make multiple tests for HIV and others... suppose, it's a good way for beginning any "relationships" but, ufortunately, sometimes you have to just believe (or not) as the passion overtakes so hard! ))

I've had two relationships in my life. The first was 4 years and the second 14 years and we're still together. It's a myth that gay people can't have lasting relationships and it's a myth we ourselves created.

How so??? I'm not sure it's so much a myth that gays have created as it could be that long standing gay couples remained really discreet because society did not want to hear about them existing. All that was left to see were the (dissolute?) lives of those gays who indulged in one night stands, orgies and what have you... But if you look at straight couples, the same sort of hanky panky goes on, as well as there being long standing straight couples. They are just a bit more obvious as they did not have to hide.
