Euthanasia
#41
Lol well as much as I appreciate someone else playing Devil's Advocate as opposed to me for a change, I'm afraid ima have to arm my crossbow here.

Euthanasia requires informed consent of a person of a sound state of mind, which eliminates the first two categorties explicitly and the third implicitly - one must suppose that even a burden on society would not give informed consent when in a sound state of mind to have their life ended so as to ease the pressure on society as a whole.

I agree with Woolfe there, but I'm a bit too tired for debating at the moment. xD

So your saying that we should let thoses suffer that are nothing more than vegatables?
so the only people that are allowed to die are those that can talk, can write, are sound in the head.

oops wrong argument...

so the others can just suffer, screw em' they have to live.

com'on you missed my point about horizon, it was a experiment to see if they could tell who has mental disorders and who didn't what was it they got 2 out of 5 or somin, and the 2 where guesses!!
So how can anyone tell if someone is mentally fucked up!

Woolfe Wrote:Incidentally, although the question of my having been entirely of sound mind at the time is debatable, when a snowballing of situations led to my waking in I.C.U. a year or so ago, there was a significant risk that I would show to have experienced some signifcant organ damage, particularly regarding the liver.

The prognosis on that was bleak, and I had a friend obtain a small bottle of morphine and a hypodermic to be kept closeby, as I had made the decision that if it were confirmed to be the case, a slow and cripplingly painful death from liver/multi-organ failure would not be how I would choose to go.

Clearly, I was fortunate in that case, but if for whatever reason I were to be in that situation again, I've no doubts that I'd prefer to have that choice again rather than to waste away slowly and painfully.

(There ya go, my objective argument first and now personal experience, both sides of the coin.)
