I had seen this mentioned on Facebook, but hadn't bothered clicking, assuming it was something that was being fought for, rather than something concrete.

Definitely another step in the right direction. Now if the States would just legalize marriage equality and work place discrimination laws - we could stop this endless tip toeing towards equality.

Oh well, big victories are often made of small victories.

There's the US we're all rooting for. I know you people have it in you.

I am thoroughly surprised and very pleased to hear it is a Federal Law, my first though was "will it apply to States that banned or don't recognized ss marriage?"

We over here have some troubles (damn be them Catholic politician elites) but I know if it passes someday it will be for the whole country.

In this respect, I have only to be happy for the US, cause I know how hard it is to make all 50 States march at the same pace.
