At last the real shark is exposed as prices for Damian hirsts "work" plummet and 1 in 3 pieces are being removed unsold, pity the credulous saps who spent fortunes on his tosh!
While work from artists such as picasso & matisse continue to rise
Those who dont know, this man is most well known for drawing dots and making a diamond encrusted skull
The patronising art establishment and its self-satisfied hangers-on have been shown up for what they are… naked emperors who deserve nothing more than our derision

This is garbage for morons who want to believe they have talent, but dont even have enough talent in their wholes bodies to wipe their own asses.
I think it was in the 1980's, some guy bought a "painting" from some artist I had never heard of, and paid about $90,000 for it.
All this "artist" did was take a 6 foot by 6 foot canvas, and with a ball point pen, he made circular swirls. THAT WAS IT!!!!
These HACKS make money from the ignorant. Those brain dead imbeciles who are so shallow, they want everybody to think they have such "good taste" in "art", that they will buy any garbage, from any dipshit.
You are an artist when something you have created is hung in a reputable museum.
Thats how I define a real artist.

well said mistertinkles and these so called artist work will end up in a trash heap not a museum. These type of "artists" will tell you EVERYTHING is art, maybe it is but that doesnt mean its GOOD art or worth a damn thing, about as much as a discarded trash can!

Eh..art is subjective.
I thought the same thing of Andy Warhol for years and a couple years back I started having a bit of appreciation for his "pop art"...it started to make me think about commercialism....and maybe that is the beauty of some art...

I agree with your sentiments but where did you read that the prices have plummeted and unsold pieces are being removed?

The most meaningful art is something that means something to me personally.
I get that abstract art is super cool; all art is art.
But I am as confused as you Partis when I see what look like paint splatters being sold for big money. I can --- I have --- made such art myself. It might be original but it just doesn't feel as important to me.
But oh well, everyone has their tastes, and sometimes people with lots of money have silly ones...
