Nataly i dont feel i ever want to get married in a church structure when it is defined as between a man an woman within that structure. I think having a child is the most important marriage between two people, then you share a duty to raise that child correctly and to pass a bit of both of you on to your child.
Take care

I have a loose meaning of family; growing up my close friends were my family.
Probably because of this, family to me has always been the people closest that I love. It just happens that a spouse is one of the closest and most significant people that will be in my life. I don't believe you need to have kids to have a family. There are many married or common law couples that never have kids, but still consider each other family. Best friends that you've grown up with likely consider each other family. For me personally, I want to be married and have a child, or two (through adoption, surrogacy has just never appealed). I would like to remain in contact with my closest friends, the sibling that I know (I have a half-sibling, father's side, that was kept a secret who I do not consider family only because I don't know him), mother's side... and that is what I will consider family.

Not really particular on getting married and adopting a baby...
But if my partner wants it then it's okay... Most especially if i would be living in a country where Gay marriage and adoption would be legal...then we should grab the opportunity

I want all adults to have the option of marriage, regardless of race, gender, etc.
Personally, though, I don't think that I will get married. And I really don't see myself having kids. If I met someone who really wanted kids, I would probably have to end the relationship, because I wouldn't want them to go through life resenting me, but I also wouldn't want to raise a child when I didn't want to be a parent in the first place. That's probably one of the worst things you can do to a child.

To me, a verbal commitment between two people outranks any piece of paper, document, or ceremony.
I couldn't care less about being "married", but I would like to be settled with someone. Don't like kids, don't want kids.

I claim to not like children. Truth is I do not like the ticking time bomb - erm - biological clock - inside of me that children bring to the surface.
Living my glory days of homosexuality in the last century, I was told that gays would never do things like, um, marry, have kids... 'family' that I just buried all of those desires I had for these sorts of things.... Now gay marriage is legal, adoption is an option, I just don't feel these things. It is unreal, almost unnatural... 40+ years of programming is a lot of programming to get over. I'm too old for offspring, raising a child... I'm two years shy of 50. Adopting a baby means that by the time they are an adult I will be nearly 70... 60 year old's tend to not be as able to toss a ball, hike and hunt. I'm already feeling the press of years, physically and am no longer able to spend a day changing the oil and doing a tune up. Ten years from now it ain't gonna happen at all.... and seriously my daughter would need a father that could be able to teach her one on one what its like to be a real man.... I tend to envy the youth of this era, your ability to marry, have kids and do that whole 'family thing' right is one I missed out on. I am glad that I worked in some small way to get those things for you kids...

I was just going through my "watch later" list and saw this, had to share, a beautiful poem about family (as explained in previous vids the kids are adopted, Daniel was taken from an abusive home and these 2 men adopted him):

Honestly I do not believe in this thing called 'family'. I hope to find someone to love (and to be loved) for the rest of my life etc, have some dogs and maybe a kid... But... I don't wanna ruin their life, so...
