I know some heavy metal fans are on GS, but what about the darker sides of heavy metal?

Anybody really into Grunge Metal, Death Metal, Goth Metal, Dark Metal?

I'm not a big fan of this music, but I do like a few of the good ones.

Cradle of Filth is probably the best Death Metal band I have heard so far.
Static X is the best Goth Metal band I've ever heard.

I was totally into that scene in high school. Of course I am still a metal fan.

I'm not much for it, but I do like a few, including Static X and Cradle of Filth, among a few others. I do enjoy some of the more surrealist videos (like by Seraphim Shock) where I can try to find the symbolic meanings, heh. And I do like symphonic metal with Within Temptation being one of my all time favorite bands.

I love many musical genres...genres are a lot like cuisine for me, I get in the mood for something at different times, some once in a blue moon and others fairly regularly, but I'd hate to have even my favorite cuisines every single day, that would be boring.

Me, I love especially symphonic black metal, well, I love metal, it is my absolutely number one music Ylsuper

Some of my favorites:

Dimmu Borgir (Norway)

Shade Empire (Finland)

Eternal Tears of Sorrow (Finland)

Children of Bodom (Finland)

Arch Enemy (Sweden)

I could go on and on...

well, I like this , this , and who can possibly hate this .
Also Mr.Tinkles, I'm pretty sure static-x is considered industrial metal, not goth, but i'll forgive you for this once:biggrin:, besides to be honest even I think metal probably has way for sub-genres than it really needs:biggrin:

Depending on who is playing I go to Mayhem fest here in dfw every year. Last year I got to see Amon Amarth, Born of osiris, Mastadon, five finger, and Rob zombie who always puts on a great show.
