Uncomfortable with sexuality around family
#1
I wasn't sure where to post this, but here it seems to fit best. I came out to my family in October of 2011 (I'm pretty sure it was 2011) and they're completely fine with it. Now, I'm not sure how else to put it, but I feel really odd or uncomfortable with them knowing. I've felt this since I came out. Does anyone else that is out to any of their family feel this?

It's a phase, and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way.

I went through it to, it passes in time. Just give yourself time to adjust.

Oh, okay. Hopefully it does pass. Thanks!
(btw, I didn't take offense to you saying it's a phase :p)

I think you have to figure out what it is you might be doing wrong to make yourself feel uncomfortable.

Do you think you are flaunting your sexuality a little too much?

Do you think you are defining yourself too much because of your sexuality?

Do you think you are focussed too much on your sexuality?

because I tell you what...the fucks I give about being gay can be added up on no hands, don't even have to take your shoes off to count no fucks Wink and I am happy as Larry. AND that is pretty fucking happy Wink

To be honest I don't really flaunt my sexuality at all.

I'm sure it'll pass, it's prob a bit awkward now but you just gotta remember
that they're also going through adjustments and you just gotta put yourself
in their shoes.

After I told my mom it took like awhile before I could start talking more about
it, but after awhile the awkwardness kind of just faded away.

I hope this made sense, kind of typing this half-alive Smile

Whether you flaunt it or not, some people will like you, some people won't. Not your problem gurl .

If your family has an issue, there are plenty of eggs they can suck, I told a good bit of my family the same thing.

If I had to live my life pleasing everyone else around me, and worrying about what they thought, I'd probably just expire and wither away :I

Just be yourself, its really the only thing you can do in life unfailingly. Like no one can take who you are away from you.
