Sick and tired of my childish looks
#11
Funny, I'm in the exact same boat (see profile pics for proof) and I've pretty much only ever been hit on by men in their sixties.

I look very young too! People still keep asking me if I'm about to graduate high school this year and the reality is I will obtain my Master's degree this summer. But don't worry - boyish look won't last forever. Give up the idea of plastic surgery. Wait a couple of years more and life will do what plastic surgery can't.

Actually its a mixed blessing. If you are looking this young now you will be the envy of so many old jaded queens later on in life.

I grew as much facial hair as I could early on. A mustache says your older. A full beard also makes you look hella older... Unfortunately the best I can do is a goatee and mustache - good thing that look is popular today - it wasn't so much when I was your age.

You live in a world were everyone wants to look younger. Plastic surgery, botox, aisle after aisle of beauty treatments all claiming to shed the years. So you are 'blessed'. Yes I know it doesn't feel that way now - give it a decade or two, then you will be able to smile at the jealousy people have.

As for dating... I have no clue... Apparently everyone has a problem with everyone else.

Try facial hair - and acting more mature. How one acts can really send a message of age than mere looks.

From someone who has just pushed through the "wrong" side of 50, this is a problem how?

I can't really grow facial hair, unfortunately. I guess there's something about genes. It doesn't grown long enough so that I could even shave it.

Plastic surgery would be a wrong and very expensive and drastic path to take and you would regret it in the end. In any case, plastic surgey is always aimed at making people look younger, not older.

As regard to your being unable to grow facial hair, there are two solutions. 1: You could consult an endocrinologist to see what your hormones are doing. You might be a late developer and maybe your testosterone level is low. 2: If number 1 proves that everything is OK there are such things as hair transplants. Hair can be taken from the back of the head and transplanted to where you would like it. It can be effective but is an expensive procedure.

In general, don't regret looking younger than your age, it will be an absolute blessing in the future.

I kinda have the same problem...but I'm younger. Don't worry, you'll look older as the time goes. No one is young forever.

I also look 10 years younger than my age. I'm 32. But I love my young looks. Try and appreciate it.

I've got the same problem, caused by a delayed puberty, but started when I was a kid. The thinnest and small one at the primary, secondary etc etc school.
Sorry I will explain my position cause I was thinking about that today, and I was thinking about opening a topic about it...

I never cared so much about the 'have you the legal age to buy alchool?',(or everything else) sometimes it happens even today 'yes I've got it since 10 years, maybe I'm older than you, bartender, you that you're asking me this thing...' etc.
With the strangers and acquaintances is boring, but in some way I've learn to use it, like 'Ok you're treating me like a kid, so if I'm not interested in talking with you I use this as an excuse to avoid you.' It's not something complicated, maybe was an inconscious psychological defense, to me. I simply act like 'I don't care'. Or I joke with these people, if I'm in a good mood.

Is not only when they're talking to you, sometimes is like they're watching you, like underestimating you. Even some friends, who are immature and you're like 'Excuse me?' Honestly I use 'the method' also with some friends...

My problem, was on personal/private life. Luckily I had a strong personality in the past, but for example, during the high school was not easy being 'a kid' in a class of young men. They never bullied me because of my personality (was not so easy to tease me... And don't forget the revenge... XD) ...But I was aware they would humiliated me if I was weaker. But i was kinda strong in my way and they were my friends...or civil.

Today I'm in your position. I don't want a younger partner only because a question of feeling. I know there are mature guys around 2oyr and immature 30,40 etc, but... I'm a little afraid. And the main problem to me is that I feel weak from a sexual point of view, even if I'm not virgin (but I still don't have a great experience heheh).
The girls, gosh, they want older guys and I'm always like the young brother... The guys... It's easier with the guys, cause they care less, but I feel weak, like being 'the boy'...

Plastic surgery is a bad idea. You could end up with an older looking face that doesn't even match your body or body type.

That said... I have the same problem as you. You'll find a number of men of the Asian persuasion do (I'm not sure if you are, but I am).

There -are- men out there, full grown middle aged men, who like the "boy" look. Trust me, there are. I've met many of them and my current partner is one of them.

I don't know how to reassure you about your looks tho, or how people take your appearance. I've been there. Until I was over 18, I was often mistaken for a girl. I never realized, though, how much my looks actually -helped me- until I lost them.

Not long ago, I was attacked in a home invasion, and I took the slash of a knife to the face. I will never again be looked at as 'pretty' or even handsome. Nor is there any mistaking, any longer, that I'm male.

Sometimes? You just don't know what you have until it's gone. Revel in what your looks -do- for you, rather than resenting the roadblocks they create. Your face will mature in time, hopefully gracefully enough you'll continue to be hot well into your sixties and seventies because you were lucky enough to 'look young' from the start.
