Thanks man. Either way, with the proposed cuts it will be a giant shit show for the remaining people, it will cripple the practice. I kinda thought the redundancies may work their way down to store level eventually as a worst case scenario, but they are cutting back hard. Still, a shitshow is preferable to no job at all. I hope my 12 years working there might save me. Regardless, it is going to be a troubled time for a number of people.

I just can't believe they're cutting that much, that's huge... Hopefully things will work out ok.

I do worry about the future like the next few years. Right now things are fine but when the state isn't doing big grants and federal funds run out or something else happens yeah, there's simply not other IT jobs in this area period.

Got told today there would be redundancies at store level. 50% of the staff in the practice are being layed off. I find out if I am one of them in the next few weeks. Fuck covid.

So I met one of those super conservative Christian Trump supporters and unfortunately he's training me at my new job. I got to hear about how evil spirits are making women so outspoken wanting rights, us gays are possessed by demons, all the Bidens are crooks just like Hillary and trump was sent by god who has to fulfill the proficy among othet things. I thought it was hilarious at first but I didn't know he could go on the entire day

@ceez Yep....it's like Carl Sagan said, we're going back to superstition... I cannot at times believe how backwards some people are. It won't be long we'll be back in the dark ages... When I hear stuff like that, does kind of erode my faith in humanity. Don't get me wrong there are good people, smart people but seems in the last ~20 years we have stepped backwards at least as far as society goes.
