Thanks - sounds nice. If I did not possess an irrational fear of flying I would see if you wanted a travel companion.

I will be heading to a fairly remote part of north British Columbia to enjoy the Liard Hot Springs - which are hot springs that have had minimal development and are generally in their natural state. They are spectacular - particularly when surrounded by several feet of snow in the winter. Won't be snow in August, but they are still a welcome relief and possibly one of my most favourite destinations.

Thanks Camfer. The concept of cruising the high seas is also a non-starter. There is a psychological aspect of me that always wants to see land. So short ferry trips from the mainland to islands is acceptable. Long distance sea cruises are not.

Generally in agreement. I spent 10 years in Canada's Arctic. An awesome experience.

Notting Hill Carnival in London... Nope, I'm working this summer and I don't have money etc. So, vacations... My last vacation was 2 years ago. Changed place, then jobless, part time worker again etc etc etc... So I didn't have (actually don't) so much money heheh. XD
