Though I am not as familiar with his earlier work, I've always highly respected what he brought to the world of film, comedy, and artistry. I have fond childhood memories with Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, and Good Will Hunting. I recently watched The Big Wedding and even though he played only a small part in that movie...he definitely "still got it." So sad that he lost the battle with depression. May he rest in peace.

Mork & Mindy was hysterical back in the day because of him. There really wasn't another rapid fire comedian doing what he did back then. Instead of waiting a beat before dropping the punchline, Robin was more like a rapid fire machine gun, shooting punchlines out a mile a minute, often simultaneously changing persona's to keep the laughter going.
I'm going to miss him. My partner and I laughed so hard during Birdcage we were hoarse for the rest of the night. Nothing better than having a sore belly from too much laughter.
He must have been in such pain to take his life that way. Imagine the amount of energy it must have taken to build a wall so well constructed that a huge public following could not see the pain it masked. At least he's not in pain anymore.
Rest in peace Robin. And thank you.

its a brilliant soundtrack, and the stuff he does on the mike in the movie are between all the songs , got it I guess when the movie came out - been buying records since I was 8 years old - my dad was a Stones and The Who fan, it rubbed off

Lauren Bacall was one of the very last of that acquired grand, Hollywood accent that seemed to be somewhere between American and British and it is kind of the end of that era in Hollywood. Nobody really spoke that way, but back in those days that acting accent would be used whether it was a movie about a royal family or a poor girl from the U.S. South, but it somehow made all those movies seem epic. I loved Lauren Bacall's voice and I think she did that big Hollywood voice better than almost anyone else.
