Shadow Wrote:... erm .... technically if we're going to start correcting people, I think that's "but don't be so blonde" babe .
I know it rankles you when people don't spell things correctly in their native tongue, but as learning is something you enjoy, perhaps learning local slang would be of interest as well ??
Just a thought mile: xx.
!?!?! Shadow !?!?!
Thanks for pointing out I'd left out a T.
Is there
ANY excuse for bad spelling???? Especially if you're going to make fun of so called silly people (such as we think blondes are)? Technically speaking, OF instead of HAVE is not slang, it's just careless spelling and lack of knowledge of some rather basic grammar, but I know it's pronunciation related. I've seen that mistake so often. I even teach it to my students (or rather tell them that they might come across it and what it's supposed to mean, and why people make that mistake).
You know I have a sense of humour, Shadz... I wasn't being sarcastic, just pointing out that it may have been a question of
the POT calling the KETTLE black... always a source of mirth, when looking on as a third party.
Incidentally the joke was slightly funny, nonetheless.
Besides, you'll have noticed that I let a lot of mistakes go by, Shadz... and I don't even budge. Pity we can't hear voice tone in these messages.
