What's the purpose of homosexuality in humans?
In some point I thought of this too. I mean... If God didn't want gay people to exist he could just erase it... Or make a human discover a cure... But thousands of years have passed and nothing have happened... I think that we gays exist for a reason... Not over population (? Lol. Haha the real cause I thought days ago was that... Maybe got put homosexuality to make a test on the human beings, a test for the men, the society , the world. To test their patience, their love, their tolerance, their ability to hate , to be aggressive and hurtful. God is watching how the men acts in front of something they "should hate".
Well I am not saying it is like that. It is just a thought I had days before. Haha

See what you're doing Will?
You're still thinking in terms of causes of homosexuality. That's the conventional heterocentric way of thinking about it that has totally dominated all discussion of all things that aren't heterosexual. When the fuk was the last time you heard a heterosexual talk about what causes heterosexuality? They're the Fumb Duckers who came up with the brilliant theory that being gay was a choice between homosexuality and heterosexuality BUT heterosexuals are born heterosexual and don't have to choose.

The idea of "cause' in sexuality leads to perceiving it as something that has no purpose. To prove this to yourself, just google causes of heterosexuality and you can find links going all the way back to the 1700s with theories about what causes it. Every friggin theory they've come up with about a cause has been ridiculous and even today when you corner scientists and doctors about what causes homosexuality and start counting the number of times they use the words 'if' and 'maybe' --- you can eventually get them to come around and admit they don't know what the fuk they're talking about... They're just guessing ... the same way that "scientists' into the mid 1700s were still guessing about ways to convert lead into gold. They are trying to make the facts match up with their preconceived conclusion that homosexuality has a cause and heterosexuality doesn't... in heterocentric thinking one is natural, the other is not.

After you've examined the extensive history of 'scientific' work on theories of the causes of homosexuality, google 'purpose of homosexuality' and look at the total lack of scientific examination of this.

^jury's still out on that, imo

That was just an example of their heterocentric logic. To them it makes sense.

Curiously, as soon as you bring up god(s) in a scientific debate, everything falls flat on its face... I wonder why.... Bashing

Good work memechose and contributors. A truely interesting read, even if I either cannot comprehend it fully or fail to see how these few minor environmental conditions are enough to make for such a "in my modern eyes" radical change in the sexual behaviour of ~10% of the tribe.

I was going to let that pass by.. but since you've scratched that scab I might as well go for blood.

I'm pretty religious in my own way and like to think god and I are on the same team and on a first name basis. But I know there's nothing in science that has anything to do with god and nothing about god that has anything to do with science. In fact people who use god to try to explain matters in science are no different than a really remote tribe somewhere around Borneo back in the 1940s who saw their first airplanes flying overhead during the 2nd world war and created an entire religion based on air planes.

There was a really smart dude named Immanuel Kant back in the Age of Reason who was real concerned about the friction between religion and sciences that were just breaking free from church domination. He did what all parents do when two kids can't play together. He sent religion and science to their separate rooms (so to speak) to play by themselves with their own toys and told them not to bother each other.

Science got all toys that could be sensed and experienced and could have their existence explained through reason. They're called phenomena, plural or phenomenon, singular.

Religion got all the toys that could not be sensed or experienced BUT could be reasoned to exist. They're called noumena or noumenon. No one talks much about them anymore. Anyway... guess who kept screwing up Kant's idea and leaving their "room" to play with some else's toys all the time???? Do you need two guesses?

My big issue with religion is real simple. They need to get their asses back in their own room and play with their own toys and stop fighting with science and trying to take their toys. That covers human sexuality, the origins of life, government, law, and just about everything else that can be sensed and experienced in this world.

So right here and now let's stop the discussion of religion on a thread about a scientific issue and stop setting up a conflict between two fucking brats (science and religion) who only get along when they are kept in their own rooms.

Thanks.

if someone wants to start a thread on religion I'll be glad to comment on it and beat the crap out of the first person who wants to let science in to play with toys that don't belong to science.
