My Debut Novel
#21
Bowyn Aerrow Wrote:M/M fiction

Anyway how about a wee bit of a sampler, like old timey books used to have on the back cover?

I'll have to put something together. I have no idea what I'm going to say to try and entice readers to read it.

Thanks so much! I've gotten to 286 pages. I've only got 2 chapters and a prologue left! So exciting!

Hi, I just joined the site and hope to meet other writers. I'd like to be of help if I can. I'm not an expert on promotion, but I've had some experience and know a few places to get information. If nothing else, I'd be glad to go over what you're considering.

I've published some of my erotic gay fiction -- I hesitate to call it "m/m" because that seems to mean something different these days. I also do a bit of consulting and reviewing for a few writer friends.

deltalover4 Wrote:Hey guys,

Currently, I am writing my debut novel. And not only that, it is M/M fiction. I'm not out, so I'm interested to see how the reaction will be if I release it.

Currently, I have written a prologue, 6.5 chapters. I have written over 100 pages, and I'm over 22,000 words.

So anyways, for you writers out there, what keeps you motivated? I have written all of this in like two weeks, which is a record for me. But I'm afraid of losing my motivation. What do you do to keep the juices flowing?

Motivation is not a problem for me; I wish I could drop 3/4 of the annoying crap I HAVE to do and concentrate on my writing. If you are not familiar with National Novel Writing Month www.naowrimo.org it is a good motivator. I got 50,000 words done two Novembers ago to get mine started, but it's nowhere near done. Then it needs some serious editing.

I would suggest (due to the nature of the book) that you should make yourself believe that completing and releasing this book will have a significant and strong impact on many lives and that through this book those lives will be changed for the better in many ways. Think of the release as not so much yourself but the benefit of thousands or tens of thousands of other individuals. That should keep you motivated!

Hi all! I am happy to say that I finally finished writing the book on Thursday night! I have a total of 312 pages, and 70,000+ words. I am happy to now give the title of the book: "THE ONE." In a three-word synopsis, the book is: "Sometimes love hurts."

I'm looking forward to the next phase in this project, which is the editing. If anyone on here has had experience in this area, let me know.

Hoping to share my story with you all in the near future!

Thanks so much! I just completed the first round of edits. Hopefully there won't be any more changes, and I can move on to formatting the book and getting the cover ready.

That is great; congratulations!!! Partytime

Mine is stalled for lack of time; I look forward to being able to spend more time with my characters.
