I just want to add that what Buzzer brought up is not a "meaningless distinction".

I'm engaged. If I hit on you, then I'm an asshole and you should kick me to the curb. Even if all you want is easy sex, I'm a bad bet because the probability of getting involved in some soap opera shitstorm is high.

But consider this: My BF and I were having problems, we went into couples therapy and were working our asses off to keep what we had and build on it. So this creep starts hitting on me because he knows I'm stressed and it's so hard and he only wants to comfort me...

Kharma is much more humane than Fanged Kharma that seems to travel with me as protection against others doing me wrong and punishment when I wrong others. Fanged Kharma is pretty immediate most the time. Like if I secretly got involved with a guy in a relationship within 30 minutes of a touch or kiss I'd get a call from Brisbane telling me Jay's in the hospital after a car wreck..

I know it's all irrational superstition... but when it happens over and over and over.... it's a pretty reliable superstition.

Furthermore, in my opinion, there's a difference between banging a guy who's in a dysfunctional short-term relationship and banging a married guy with 3 children and a pregnant wife.

As a whole, I'm entirely against being part in cheating and wouldn't care if a relationship was "open". Hands off.

AS of the past 24h hours I've begun redefining my role in GS... I'm not leaving but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get back to being my wide open self in here again. It's nothing that anyone in here did but something I realized because of things that some people in here did. Nothing bad. Just give me some space and time.... relatively theoretically speaking....there's a joke in that for science geeks

I'm not going to start calling people who get messy with other people's relationships are evil. I'll just say they're like dogs that need house training or left outside until they learn to stop indiscriminately shitting everywhere they go.

Separate issue/pet peeve of mine: cheating bf's who'd say "I was drunk, and it just happened". Were you raped? No. You allowed yourself to be placed in that situation. He didn't just trip on land on your erection. If you can't keep it in your pants, don't get into a committed relationship.
