The gay club
#1
We started a LGBT support club at our school and I was a part of establishing it. After a lot of paperwork and BS, they finally made it official. I was never the Gay Pride kind of guy but I figured it will open up people's mind a lot more and it will definitely help out other LGBT students especially if they don't have anyone to talk to. My teacher wants me to give a speech in front of the school, but I don't know about that. One step at a time.

Sometimes I forget that I'm only human, I figured I'd write that to remind myself.

(Adam) That's great! You've done something that's going to make a difference to more people than you might imagine. I've never been much into organized LGBT stuff either, but recently Will and I joined a gay-friendly Episcopal Church, more to just give our little boy more stability and routine in his life, as well as new playmates - and I'm really happy with the LGBT fellowship there. It's really nice to be with LGBT families like us, and just to be able to feel free and comfortable.
Good luck with the speech lol, be brave.

There's more benefit than just that, too. Other gay kids at your school, even if they never join your group or let anyone know that they're gay, will feel less alone.

At my high school absolutely no one was out. No one. It was not possible. It wasn't even clear if a student might get kicked out for it. (Private, Christian school.) There was one kid that everyone sorta knew was gay... but he certainly never talked about it. Everyone else just had to guess if there was even a single other gay kid in the whole high school. That's very isolating.

Great job opening the club for your schoolmates. Wish there was one in mine when I was a student.

I guess here we're just still far from achieving your heroic campaign. My heart is with you Wavey.
