Little Ashes. that's the one i forgot to mention earlier. an excellent film, one of the best there is. there's some amazing acting there, from Robert Pattinson among others. him and Beltran are brilliant in this film. I actually discovered the talent of Beltran in this very film. if anybody hasn't heard of it i suggest to check it out. it's absolutely worth it.

Out in the Dark was very good. kept believable throughout (not talking about the political atmosphere involved as i'm not familiar with that). loved the ending. there was something about that lawyer character that got to me. there was something very real and genuine about him. i always love it when a director can pull off genuineness in a picture. it's so beautiful.

oh, and i watched Free Fall without the subtitles. Smile loved it.

Free Fall is a good movie, I enjoyed it. Been loving all the films I've been finding on Netflix recently!

For a much darker twist, Suicide Room is good too, although very very grim.

I watched Romeos recently too and thought it was pretty good. Lead is transgendered female to male and found it really engaging.

someone mentioned Il Compleanno (David's Birthday). i watched it, and it was the unhealthiest and most absurd portrayal of homosexual desire i've ever seen. plus italians suck at filmmaking. they have this habit of introducing dramatic elements for the sake of dramatic element alone without it having any connection to anything in the plot or characters. it's overdone in 99% of the cases.

the husband who was after David kept making these weird facial expressions and contortions throughout the entire film, that are befitting on a theater stage maybe, but not in a close up shot on the movie screen. and forget about the ending. two guys finally decide to consummate their desire for one another (if you can call it that) and they get punished for it immediately. what a crap.

I have watched some LBGT movies on Netflix. Come Undone was a good French movie about finding first love. Don't watch the Eating Out movies. They aren't very well made or acted movies. I tried to watch them but the acting was so bad.

trywait Wrote:a disturbing gay film on Netflix was stranger by the lake. it had its moments

Enjoyed Stranger By the Lake (L'inconnu du lac). Enjoy those up in the air endings. Realistic sex action. In French, English subtitles.

And yes, disturbing.
