ltorr,
I know what you mean about the leg openings on my briefs. Pisses me off when (due to my thighs, and the type of elastic they use) after only wearing them a couple times, the openings get stretched out; and either they start to ride up (hate that feeling, lol) or my junk is starting to slip out and/or not comfortably supported. I can't figure out how guys wear "regular" boxers, where there is no support at all and everything is flopping around, lol. Seems like the equipment would constantly be getting beat up? I just don't like that feeling, I know some would say it's "freedom", but I guess I like my junk to have a little support at all times.

Go commando - problem solved.
I wear nothing under jeans, and shorts. Typically I wear swimming shorts or sweat-pant like shorts in summer, jeans in the winter. Shorts are typically 2-3 sizes than I need, thus have plenty room (and ventilation). I wear a 'supporter/jock strap' when doing sports and other physically active stuff - having ones nuts bouncing around and banging the thighs isn't as fun as it may look. A cup adds more support and protection. I actually wear a cup whilst doing things like dry wall, roofing and carpentry.... having been clipped in the nuts once with a 2x6 a guy was swinging around in a less than safe manner learned me important lessons about wearing the right equipment for the construction business. Mind I still don't wear work gloves, but I do wear a cup even when I'm doing odd work around the property that may include wood, drywall, masonry, etc. Example, yesterday I was removing more branches and palm fronds from the yard... I wore a cup... understand palm fronds have sharp bits, saw like teeth on some, long sharp needles on others... Around stuff like that one wants a bit of hard plastic to prevent accidental pokes to our pals below. I do wear boxer-briefs when I dress up for funerals and weddings thus wearing slacks. It helps to hide things since my slacks are the right size and being the right size reveals a bit more of me than I am comfortable with. What I am basically saying is that you need to consider your whole outfit before you consider what you wear underneath. If you really need support, then get an athletic supporter. If there is no medical reason for support down yonder, then stop seeking support for daily activities unless you are a sports enthusiast or planning on doing vigorous exercise and don't want your balls bouncing around. Mind humans evolved without wearing clothing. There was a time in your species history (and not too terribly long ago) where you all wore nothing and males didn't mind the freedom down there. There are plenty of myths about ones testicles hanging lower due to lack of underwear. Sorry, low hanging balls happen to every male over time, no matter how much support you think underwear is giving you. Gravity and the minor fact that skin looses its elasticity the older it gets means you will eventually sit on the toilet and your balls will get wet. That and prostate exams, reading glasses and lots of other fun stuff. As an aside, if you wear too much support down all the time you run a slightly higher risk of hernia and other similar issues. There are muscles attached to the balls which need exercise as much as any other muscle. Lack of exercise of any muscle leads to weakness. So if you rely on artifical support then the day is likely to happen where stepping into the shower leads to a hernia all because you failed to exercise the cremaster muscle. Then there is the heat problem, too much heat kills your fertility. While a desire to retain fertility is not typically something a gay man thinks about often... another side issue that the hotter your balls get, the lower they will hang attempting to cool off. The lower they hang the more prone they are to being jostled and bang about down yonder to take injury. That cremaster muscle comes into play here, thus temperature changes exercises that muscle for ya. The real reason why people wear underwear, is not so much for support but to protect the outer wear from leakage. If you can wear a pair of white underwear through the day and you have no color clues as to which side is front and back (hint, yellow is front, brown is back) then clearly you don't leak and you actually know how to urinate and defecate without ruining your clothes - so commando is ok.

Jockey is my brand and I go with a Sport Brief in cold weather. Warm weather I rock a Boxer Brief but fitted on the legs and a fairly short leg. I like the feel and they have gotten more creative with their colors.

I like button fly boxer briefs and my normal brands are Calvin Klein or Tommy Hifliger, but I found Jeep branded boxer briefs, bought a few for novelty and really like them.
