Lest we forget what its like for so many kids now days....

Ok, well, I appreciate the optimism meme, but for people like in the OP's vid, it doesn't matter what we think or say or do.

I'm not trying to say don't wage some kind of crusade against ignorance, go ahead, do it.

But bottom line is people like that are a) stupid (not merely ignorant -- ignorance can be fixed, stupid can't) b) hypocrites (tied in with their stupidity, they don't *see* their own inner contradictions) c) they *believe* what they believe and, for them, it is like the difference between life and death (salvation and eternal damnation). NO argument, no matter how compelling or rational, no matter how much you may shame them, will make a *dint* in their stupidity, hypocrisy or belief system. Their very *identities* are tied up in it. These people are so emotionally and psychologically weak that without their belief system they are at a loss as to how to deal with reality at all.

The *only* thing that ever breaks through those defenses is an emotional shock that leaves them emotionally and often literally devastated. Then, and only then, will any of them even *consider* re-evaluating their cherished beliefs. It is exactly the same as an addict or alcoholic hitting rock bottom and having to re-evaluate their life pattern up to that point. And, in my experience with them, few of them are capable of making the transition. There *are* exceptions to this rule but they are rare.

I can't help but think any shame we give them will just be chalked up to more sabotage by the Gay Agenda that is corrupting their kids and bringing them away from Jeebus

You're totally right, Mike Stupidity cannot be fixed. I wasn't expecting to fix it. You hit on my reason for wanting to widen this viral issue to the point everyone sees it. The video is a great tool for offering up a huge humiliation to any and all people like the parents in it. It will give them the opportunity to see their views and words through a camera's objective perspective. It will also make them aware they they are more of a minority than they like to believe. The video will compel discussions amongst "them" --- make some see it's time for them to rethink their association with people like those parents and all sorts of disharmony in their ranks. Fundamentalists HATE being exposed for what they really are. Remember all the remarks about the gay guy posting things about his dad on facebook? They called the gay guy a liar about EVERYTHING but what he said on facebook!!!!!!! Do you think that was an accident???

Plus there's a great deal of satisfaction anytime you can pour boiling horse piss on any wounded fundamentalists.

Jake and I found out that the gofundme page for Daniel has been close as people have sent nearly 93,805 dollars and more to support the kid. As a very good gesture, however, Daniel has provided few organizations and foundations that comes to help gay teens that are afflicted with poisonous parents like Daniel's. Therefore, people of the Internet have already helped and assist Daniel and the response was pretty quick.

This was just one example of how dangerous and scary it is to be gay. I myself had to deal with my mom who disowned me as well, but came back years later to apologize, in fact she apologized when I got married to Jake and she was not among the guests. My dad was and he came too. My dad never was allowed to place a word.

That video just made me relive a very dark moment of my life, Daniel was 20, I was 15 and later on the second altercation when Jake came with me in Australia I was 20. I know that many teenagers are living this kind of situation as I write this and this is unacceptable.

In Quebec there is a large organization called "les auberges du coeur" this his a foundation that regroups many shelters intented for youth with problems. I know about them because Jake has been through this organization himself and that's basically this type of experience that decided him to study sociology and psychology + plus the whole bullshit he have gone through his life. I came out at age 15, Jake came out at age 29 -yes when we became an item, but in between he has lead a double if not triple life; gay porn performer, escort, strip dancer, cam performer.

Those shelters, although a very good idea, are often mixed and gay teens will still be persecuted by other teens, there was several discussions as to open a shelter that will deal only with gay and lesbian teens, but this never materialized.

Well we're not going to join the organization, we're not going to ask the government assistance, we'll go private and we'll get the community to support our project and we will get a shelter for gay teens who are just like Daniel kicked out of their homes because their parents are too fucking idiot to understand their role in society. We don't need to built the shelter we already have the apartment building.

So Bowyn thanks for bringing this video to our attention, we have been talking about it for a while but now seeing this video in 2014, it's heartbreaking and with all the money that my husband and I have I believe we can definitely do something and we will do it. As Jake always says; "be part of the solution."

I had that project in mind for years, in fact, I started contemplating this type of special housing - because I hate the word "shelter" after I had to deal with MOM (your mom Alex). Your mom never had the chance to touch you, but I know somewhere in Canada, USA, and other place in the world a teenager (boy or girl) is being persecuted, beaten or is terrified and alone in his room for the crime of being gay. It's true the gay scene isn't my favorite scene, but it's not a reason to let something like it happens to Daniel go unnoticed. So yes, this video convinced me that it's time to act.

Here's Daniel Pierce and the first news report on him. Americans can take this opportunity to be really pissed with their news providers that the first to break the story was BBC.

They've waited 9 months? What a dumbass family!

Do you know why it took 9 months?

It took them that long to get advice from a *respectable* fundamentalist minister about how to deal wiyh a gay child.

By *respectable* I really mean they probably shopped around for a while for one who said exactly what those ignorant turd heads wanted wanted Jesus to say. It's funny how fundamentalists say they believe in the exact words of the bible except when they need to change some of the words to fit their own ignorant ways.
