Shocking News

Actually there will never be a country which will be entirely gay-friendly. There are still countries which have a prejudice against certain races and religions, let alone sexual orientation.

But look at the positive outcomes. Countries have been legalizing same-sex marriages, allowing same-sex couples to adopt children etc. These are definitely signs that we are being accepted by more people.

I would say as long as a country does not criminalize homosexuality and allows same-sex marriages, I think its somewhat a gay-friendly country.

Reading stuff like this really makes me want to migrate to a gay-friendly country in the future. Sad

Gay friendly places didn't get gay friendly because the gays up and moved when we were persecuted. They got gay friendly because we stood our ground and fought back.

Whist canning isn't typically a punishment done by the 'Free' Western nations, pasts with homosexuality being a punishable and often enforced crime exists.

The Stonewall Riots which sparked the modern LGBT revolution was sparked by arrests which were unnecessarily rough.

If our gay grand parents (those LGBT who faced that world) had just decided to move someplace else, the revolution wouldn't have started and the world wouldn't have all of these 'gay friendly' places.

What needs to happen is local LGBT need to get a stomach full of this sort of stuff and figure out how they are going to proceed. Continue laying down and taking it/running away - or stand up and fight back.

Same holds true with Democracy.... This whole 'free the world' thing ain't going to work, its has to be the people of these nations that decide to do what the French Did. Make heads roll and take that freedom back from their oppressors.

Yeah its hard, yes people will die, yes many LGBT will be tortured and abused and end up suffering - however the long run is that the LGBT will win its rights.

I'm not sure there's a street corner anywhere on the planet where I could french-kiss a guy without getting at the very very least a lot of disapproving stares. Especially when I reach around and grab a handful of his ass. And while I am being a little funny, I'm being a lot serious.

From what I've seen, it looks beautiful and I'm sure we'll have a great time. But isn't it sad that we still have to make choices based on ignorance and bigotry?
Thanks. I was wondering where your honeymoon was going to be. Sounds relaxing and beautiful.

I've read too many articles like this, seen to many videos like this, heard to much of the same sort of news...everything from the atrocities in Uganda to Matthew Shepard, Tyler Clementi and more...

When I was young I used to hear my parents talk about how much the world had changed, and back in the good old days things were different... I kind of thought, especially as I got older and saw all the technical innovations, scientific and medical discoveries, that they were simply being nostalgic. Now I realize that even though we go through different ages, the bronze age, the Renaissance, the industrial revolution, the digital age... it doesn't get easier. Times may change, but humanities worst atrocities continue.
