South Cack is inevitable since there's no real argument against what the higher court ruled - they're just gonna try to drag it out as long as they can to make themselves look good to the people who still think we're the Confederacy fighting the good fight against the feds

Certiorari petitions from OH, TN, MI and KY have been filed with the Supreme Court from the decision of the 6th Circuit.

Quote:With a total of four petitions filed in the six cases decided by the Sixth Circuit — the Ohio and Kentucky petitions are both joint filings in two cases — the stage is now set for the cases to be submitted to the Justices, as soon as state replies are filed in some or all of the cases. It thus appears that the cases have arrived at the Court in time — if review is, indeed, granted — to be heard and decided in the Court’s current Term.

To be heard and decided before the Justices complete this Term in late June or early July, the cases would have to be ready for the Justices to consider by mid-January. With the current split among federal appeals courts, it would be most surprising for the Court to refuse to hear any of this round of cases. It is up to the Justices to accept or deny each or all of the petitions.

Here is the direct way the Michigan case framed the issue for the Court: “Whether a state violates the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by denying same-sex couples the right to marry.”

Bad news for those who live in Florida (including myself), our attorney general (Pam Bondi) is making an appeal to the 11th circuit court (also in control over Alabama and Georgia) to the overturning of our ban on same-sex marriage stating the following:

" Because no fundamental right is at issue, and because there is no other basis for applying heightened scrutiny, only rational basis applies. Florida's laws satisfy this deferential standard. Florida's laws therefore do not violate the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment. Nor do they violate the right to travel, the Establishment Clause, or a right to intimate association. "

Her along with gov. Rick Scott are trying to continue the gay marriage ban in Florida....
However it is not yet known if the court will hear the case.

I wondered how someone could be from Oslo and not look very Norwegian. It all makes sense now!
