Need major help

Virge whilst I get the humor here and was sorely tempted to make similar remarks, its actually not a good idea to stir this type of pot...
Police, HLS and others won't get help for the poster, they will arrest his happy arse, and punish him.

The po-po don't care about mental health issues, rarely do they treat a mental health case correctly, thus we end up with mental health patients being shot, murdered, tasered and other interesting things which do nothing to assist the under lying problems.

Sorry guys, I have OCD...do you think it's just best for me to cut contact with this person? I just came up with this thought last night. I would wanna cut contact, hopefully just forget about this. It was gone last night and this morning, but just came back up this afternoon around 230

stop being so paranoid. it's reasonable to think strangers on the internet could take advantage of some information you've provided them, but worrying that they'll come to your house and kill/harm you? that is full blown unhealthy paranoia. not only do you not have any grounds to worry about things like that, you were the one who gave out your address. he didn't ask. you would probably feel this way no matter how ''qualified'' or ''professional'' the person on the other end was, which would indicate you have some sort of underlying fear about this thing in general, and that it's not a reaction to this specific situation.

Well ignoring the person that leads to the underlying distressing thought would, kinda sorta lead you away from that particular person being part of this distressing thought.

However, what you are not doing is addressing the underlying problem, which is the OCD.

You will not be putting a single dent in your obsessive compulsive posting at Yahoo Answers, thus you are inviting yet one more concerned person to get involved, try to help you which will lead to opening the same door that leads to those uncomfortable thoughts about their motivation.

You need professional therapy. Preferably one who is specializing in OCD behaviors one who can help you to figure out what your triggers are and help you to find the tools to short circuit as many of the OVD behaviors and thoughts you have, thus giving you control over it so you can (hopefully) stop some of the expressions of the behavior.

You also need a therapist who can sit down and discuss with you why it is you think this guy is a rapist or whatever.

Running away will not address the problem. Yes in the short term it will lead to relief, and most likely kinda hurt this fella who only wanted to help.

In the long run you will end up in the same boat.

Bighug - you that.

I'm sorry, everyone knows I am mad - mad as a hatter. I am, however, not angry.

I thought is post a wee strange, atypical of him. I thought perhaps Virge just didn't pick up on the OCD part here. Besides Virge has told me that he has had some issues with not coming off quite as he intends.

Technically this isn't paranoia, this is obsessive thinking.

Obsessive thinking leads to the brain locking on to a subject and no matter how insane or illogical the thought may be, it keeps going around and around and around.

Obsessive thinking isn't something one just turns off. There are psychological tools one can use to minimize the impact of such thoughts, or to make the episode shorter, but its really, really, hard to stop thinking about a thing, thus its obsessing.Wavey

Hmmmm....

While Virge does have a decent sense of humor most days, in this case we are making fun of a person with a mental/emotional medical problem.

This would be sort of like suggesting to a person who is suicidal to go take a long walk off a short bridge - funny on context to a degree, until we realize we just told a suicidal person to go kill themselves.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions).

Causes - Symptoms - Tests - Treatment - Prognosis
National Library of Medicine

On top of OCD being a real live medical disorder, making fun of a person who has OCD doesn't usually end well.

So yes, Virge is a funny guy, but this time his humor was misplaced and isn't actually that funny - unless one thinks that teasing a person with a medical problem is fun.

I'm kinda hurt by the people making jokes about this. I mean, I ddint ask to think about this. I didn't ask to worry about this. I want to have a clear mind just like everyone else. It's a challenge for me to do that and interrupts my life. I kinda came here looking for a bt of guidance and instead from some people I get made fun of? Idk why one would do that, making fun of someone for a condition they didn't ask for or have little control over?
