Rembrandt: The Late Works

I will be in London in November and I will be going to see this. This is a surprisingly good article for the Mail on-line about someone who was probably the greatest portraitist of all time (in my opinion):

Over the last year we have had the joy of visiting the Hermitage, the Rijksmuseum, and a number of of major collections of his work.

The brushwork of his late portraits is astonishing....it anticipates the Impressionists and expressionists by centuries.

I agree with you about his brushwork. I envy you the Hermitage. I haven't been there. Yet!
